In this virtual event, Julia Grauvogel will talk about her work applying QCA to the study of international sanctions, based on her co-authored article (with Christian von Soest) in the European Journal of Political Research and a forthcoming chapter in the Research Handbook on Economic Sanctions (Edward Elgar Publishing, 2021). Julia Grauvogel is a Senior Research Fellow at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) and the Editor of Africa Spectrum. Her research on international sanctions and authoritarian regimes has been published in leading journals such as International Studies Quarterly and the Journal of Modern African Studies. Currently, she leads a project funded by the German Research Association (DFG) on the termination of international sanctions.
