What would you say are the key ingredients to a life that really matters?

1. Sunday’s message was about the ingredients of wisdom. What stood out in the message? What is a key point that stuck with you?

2. Read Proverbs 6:1-5. These verses warn us not to be liable for someone else’s debt. What makes this good advice? Romans 13:8 encourages us to eliminate our own debt, except our debt to love others. In what ways are we indebted to love others?

3. Proverbs 6:6-11 warns against laziness, procrastination, and a lack of preparation. In Matthew 25:1-13 Jesus tells a story about not being prepared for His return. Why do you think Jesus told this story? Get a copy of this Study Guide and other message

4. Proverbs 6:12-19 lists several character traits the LORD despises. Why do you think these traits are so abhorrent to God? Have you ever struggled with any of these? How so?

On our own, we can drift into bad decisions, character flaws, and poor choices. Often, these become “blind spots” that we cannot see in ourselves but are perceived by others. It’s risky to allow others permission to speak into our life. Does the Bible encourage this? How can we do this in an honoring way?

When you think of the person who helped lead you to Christ, what role did their character play in their level of influence in your life? Read Matthew 5:13-16. How do these verses speak to the importance of our character?

PRAYER: Let’s pray that we can encourage one another to pursue godly character through God’s wisdom. Are there any other prayer requests?
