Wheelchair"Push"to"have"Paul"AKA"‘The"Other"Superman”"visit"our"school" this"year"

on"his"annual"wheelchair"push"to"raise"money"for"the"24Hour"Fight"Against"Cancer"

Macarthur." In" order" to"do" our" bit" and" support" this" wonderful" local" charity,"which"

helps"local"cancer"patients"in"many"ways,"we"will"be"having"a"heroHthemed"mufti"day"

for"a"gold"coin"donation."Students"may"wear"any"sensible"clothing"that"is"related"to"

their"hero"which"may"be"a"sporting,"academic,"community,"family"or"imaginary"hero"

Victory! On" a" cold" but" slightly" sunny" morning," our" four" academic" challenge"

competitors"got"ready"for"a"big"day." " They"were"going"to"compete"against"

20" other" schools" at" Sarah" Redfern" School." " The" competitors" were"

Sudhikshaa,"Sanjey,"Arnav"and"Jordan.T.""

All" the"schools"were"split"up" into"pools"and"Ingleburn"Public"School"was" in"

pool" yellow"with" 3" other" schools." All" schools" did" 5" activities," in" different"

sessions" and" our" first" activity" was" Quizmaster" Poetry." We" had" to" write"

poems" and" include"a" phrase" they" told" us" and" another" challenge"was" that"

there"was"a"cut"up"poem"and"we"had"to"put"it"in"correct"order."""

Then"we" did"Tower" of"Terror."We"had" to"pick"a"base" from"pentagon" (+30"

pts.),"Triangle"(+15pts)"and"the"square"was"(+20"pts.)."We"then"had"to"build"

the"highest"tower"possible"with"100"straws"and"after"we"had"finished"that,"

the"tower"had"to"hold"a"golf"ball" (30"points)."We"were" the"winners" in"our"

pool.""

After" that" we" went" to" Chemical" Magic" where" we" had" to" follow" the"

instructions"on" the" sheet"and"mix" chemicals."We"were"with" two"girls"who"

assisted"us"and"they"said"that"we"were"the"best"school"they"had."We"then"

went" to" Buzz"Me" In," which" had" four" rounds" and" each" player" had" a" turn."

There"were"buzzers"in"front"of"us"and"there"were"quick"maths"questions"on"

the"board."If"we"knew"the"answer"we"had"to"buzz"in"and"the"fastest"school"

got"to"answer"the"question"and"if"the"answer"was"correct"they"would"get"2"

points." In" Buzz" Me" In" IPS" won." After" that" we" went" to" our" last" activity,"

picture"this."There"were"four"clues"each" leading"to"one"book,"the"task"was"

to"find"all"the"four"books"via"the"clues.""

At"the"end"of"the"day"all"the"schools"gathered"up"in"the"hall"and"the"winners"

were"to"be"announced."We"saw"a"dance"performance"and"then"the"winners"

were" acknowledged." To" our" surprise" IPS" won" overall" and" all" of" our" team"

members" received" trophies" and" a" certificate."We"won" the" school" a" large"

trophy"and"a"shield"on"which"our"school"name"is"to"be"engraved.""

education" day" with" their" children." The" day" began" with" a" special"

assembly"under"the"COLA"where" the"school"choir,"a"singing"trio"–"

Jadelyn,"Vera"and"Leanne,"Kindergarten"dance"group,"our"regional"

dancers" and" Wakikirri" dance" group" entertained" the" large" crowd"

with"their"talents.""

The"school"was"also"introduced"to"an"inspirational"former"student,"

Stephan" Rochouste" a" local" hero." He" also" spoke" about" his"

achievements," but"mostly" about" the" courage" and" attitude" that" it"

took"for"him"to"achieve"success.""

Teachers"kindly"provided"morning" tea" for"parents" in" the"hall."The"

debating" team" discussed" the" topic" ‘Children" should" be" banned"

from"watching" shows"with" superheroes" featured’." They" provided"

many"great"arguments"but"to" the"relief"of"many,"the"Year"5"team"

won" with" their" many" strong" arguments" as" to" why" superhero"

movies" are" not" bad"and"can" actually" be" good" for"children." Thank"

JC’s Adventures Today" JC"started"his"adventure" in" the" front"garden."At"9.52am"JC’s" school"uniform"blew"away"because"of" the"cool"

winter"breeze"and"it"landed"on"top"of"a"tree."JC"took"a"minute"to"realise"what"happened"and"started"to"climb"the"tree."

Once"he"got"his"uniform"down,"he"had"realised"his"uniform"was"way"too"big"so"he"sat"down"and"used"it"as"a"blanket."

Eventually"he"got"bored"and"decided"to"go"play"in"the"plants"but"he"didn’t"know"there"was"a"hole"and"fell"in"it.""

Once"JC"got"out"he"realised"he"had"a"strong"feeling"towards"roses"and"pretended"he"was"taking"a"photo"for"a"famous"

magazine"shoot."JC"was"too"cold"and"wanted"to"go"home"and"be"warm"with"hot"chocolate."But"he"realised"he"was"

trapped"so"he"took"a"selfie"and"went"back"to"class.""
