diseases in American children

• 5 - 10 % of all diagnosed cases of diabetes are type 1

• 80 people per day are diagnosed in USA

SURVEY RESULTS• 8 diabetics, ages 14-17, 6 females, 2 males• 3 buy lunch, 5 pack lunch• 1 student could easily access nutritional values

in cafeteria, 4 could not, 3 were unsure• 6 could only purchase water from vending

machines• 1 believed vending machines had healthy

options
