The Inevitability of the Masterkey System

The times have definitely changed, and we are in this age where we have to watchful and careful about

our own security. Leave your car door unlocked and you might be calling the police shortly to report a

missing car incident. If you leave your front door open during the time that you are catching a good night

sleep, you might wake up the next day with your television in the living room gone.

Of course, these scenarios are not meant to scare you. This is just a way to illustrate and put into context

how imperative it is to lock up and make sure that territories and possessions will not be handled or

accessed by people we want it off limits to. However, there are times that we beef up on security too

much that we forget what the combination of our lock is or where we put the spare key to our front door.

For those of us living in apartment complexes or

condominium buildings, getting locked up outside our units

can be a major source of stress and trouble. You have to

call the manager of your walkup for a spare key, or if you

misplaced both or left both inside the unit, then you need

to ask for the manager to unlock your unit’s door. More

often than not, instead of keeping hundreds of unique

keys for the different apartment units in the building, a

master key is used in order to open any door in the said

complex. A masterkey system is efficiency and practicality

enveloped all in one door opener.

The masterkey system is inevitable mainly because it is

impossible to stand on top of the many unique keys in the chain and have the first attempt to open the

door correctly. During emergencies wherein a person has to get inside of his or her unit because an

elderly or a young resident is inside the apartment unsupervised, immediate access must be made via the

door. If there seems to be smoke or unpleasant odor coming out from the slanted spaces of the

apartment unit’s door, a masterkey system can immediately open the door and address what is going on

inside the unit. If there is a fire, it has to be put out as quickly as possible in order not to endanger the

other occupants of the building. If there is a gas leak from the gas range and the door remains to be

locked, a masterkey system can make it possible for the personnel in charge of the safety and upkeep of

the building to open the unit’s door and turn off the valves of the gas range.

The inevitability of the masterkey system is quite an understatement already especially when life, security

and safety of people or a group of people are and can be at risk. More than a quick and easy way to have

a door open because the key is not available at the moment, a masterkey system makes it possible to

avert a dangerous situation from spreading on the get go.
