THE IMPERIAL COLLECTION - ALBANIA

We have the great pleasure of offering the Imperial Collection – Postmarks and Postal History of the Ottoman Empire.

The collection includes many rare covers and cancellations from all over the Empire. It includes a number of unique cancellations, many mixed or combination frankings, cancellations used on telegrams, newspapers, etc.

In the exhibition form, it was awarded many medals, including international Gold in Portugal in the year 2010

The collection was put together over 30 years of intensive search for material being offered in the philatelic auction catalogues, as well as many primary source acquisitions from families holding correspondence from previous generations. This way it has been possible to add some historically important material from Balkan and First World Wars. Many of the unique items came from pri-vate correspondences that have never been on the market before. As it has become very difficult to find more material, the collector decided to give other philatelists the possibility to upgrade their collections by offering whole collection for sale.
