Program is not designed for everyone. Challenging! Hard work required. Contract is required for enrollment.

$110 per exam X 6 exams = $660 Paid at time of registration (October) May be spread over Junior and Senior

years Scholarships available. BTW pays an additional $160 per

registrant!

Experiential learning that takes place outside of the classroom.

Students engage in independent research.

Process:

1. Due in January of senior year

2. Select a subject area

3. Develop a research question

4. Present an extended argument, supported by research

5. 4000 words maximum

Group 1: Language A

Freshman Year: English I MYP or preAP Sophomore Year: English II pre-AP (rec.) Junior Year: English HL1 Senior Year: English HL2

Group II: Language B (world) Students must reach at least the 4th (SLI)

level of a language. Cannot take SL exam prior to Junior year “SL”: Latin, German, French, Spanish,

Chinese, Russian, Japanese “HL”: French and Spanish only

Group III: Individuals/Societies 9th : OK History/Government 10th: AP U.S. History (recommended) 11th: World SL (1st year of HL) 12th: History of Asia HL (2nd year of HL)

Or: Psychology SL/HL, Economics SL, ITGS SL, Hist. of Europe HL (2nd year), or World Religions SL

Group IV: Experimental Science 9th: Biology I 10th: Chemistry I pre-AP (recommended) 11th: AP Physics 1 12th: Physics HL

Or, Biology HL (2 years), Chemistry SL/HL (2 years), or Sports Ex./Health Science SL

Group V: Mathematics 9th: Algebra I 10th: Geometry 11th: Algebra II 12th: Math Studies SL

New: Math Studies is recommended for seniors only; sophomores must take Pre-Calculus
