ese requirements broaden the educational experience and challenge students to apply their knowledge and understanding.

e IBDP is highly regarded for the rigorous preparation of students for university. Each scholar will also have access to individualized career and scholarship mentor-ing from the school’s Career, Opportunities and Guid-ance Department throughout their two years.

Three Core Requirementse Extended Essay is a requirement for students to engage in independent research through an in-depth study of a question relating to one of the subjects they are studying.

eory of Knowledge is a course designed to encourage each student to reect on the nature of knowledge by critically examining dierent ways of knowing (perception, emotion, language and reason) and dierent kinds of knowledge (scien-tic, artistic, mathematical and historical).

The HSP Scholar and TeacherA key aribute of our HSP programme is the high level of engagement and student ownership.

Scholars design and organize their own enrichment modules, under the supervision of their tutors. ese take the form of colloquia, seminars, conferences, eld studies, eld trips and industry aachments. Rigorous yet simulating, students have ample opportunity to explore their interest and help them develop their roles as leaders.

Our passionate and dedicated teachers are recognized in their respective areas of specialization and a number of whom are experienced examiners with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO).

Live, Learn and LoveBusy, meaningful and rewarding — sums up the HSP experience in ACS (Independent).

A uniquely ACS (Independent) programme, the school’s hallmark overseas education programme “Window on the World” (WOW) oers scholars the experience of initiating, planning, and executing community projects overseas.

Another signature programme, the Future inking Challenge is a joint collaboration with the Prime Minis-ter Oce. Open to all Junior Colleges, the Future ink-ing Challenge tests the ability of top humanities students to solve future challenges through systematic thinking. Students also have the opportunity to engage top policy and decision makers in another HSP signature programme, ‘In Conversation With…’

roughout the year, students are actively involved in providing leadership and mentorship to other school programmes such as the International Model United Nations Conference, the Youth Leaders’ Summit. Some also intern during the holidays through the JC Law Programme, the Ministry of Education internship and Creative Arts Programme, among others.

AT ACS (INDEPENDENT), THE HSP IS MUCH MORE THAN AN ACADEMIC PROGRAMME, IT IS AN ENVIRONMENT AND OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE, LEARN AND LOVE THE HUMANITIES.

Our HSP scholars share their experiences:

e HSP class atmosphere is truly an intellectual one and the teachers are some of the best I have met.

Niall Yang Sohan (Class of 2012)

e rigour of the HSP has not only allowed me to pursue my interests in the humanities but also allowed me to excel in them.

Anne Lim (Class of 2013)

Loving teachers, a curriculum that is engaging and a class in heartwarming synergy — this is what that made every day extraordinary.

Cheang Kit Lea (Class of 2014)

e HSP has been one of intellectual controversy, curiosity – a drop in an amal-gamated ocean that is discovery.

Gavin Ezra Goh (Class of 2015)

HSP is where intellectual stimulation and discussion occurs through cooperative learning; where teamwork is the mainstay and everyone achieves together.
