    20th Annual Vince Dooley Open and Hartman-Dukes ClassicWhen making reservations at the Holiday Inn Express for the golf tournaments next year, you can call the hotel direct at (706)546-8122 or 1/800/HOLIDAY (worldwide) and ask for the Georgia Football Lettermens Club or GFL group code to obtain the special rates and to be sure your reservations get in the assigned block of rooms. The room rate will be $82.00 per night. The cut of date for making reservations is March 25, 2009. The dates for the tournaments are April 16, 2009 and April 17, 2009. The tournaments will be held at the UGA Golf Course.

    Georgia Lettermen Education FoundationScholarship Recipients 2008-2009

    Amanda Jean Russell A junior at Kennesaw State University, Amanda is the daughter of Jay Russell of Woodstock, GA. Jay lettered in football from 1978-80. Amanda will receive the Frank G. Lumpkin, Jr. Award which is worth $4,000.

    Amelia Elizabeth Ballard Liz is a junior at Valdosta State University and is the daughter of the late Marty Ballard. Marty lettered in football from 1979-80. Liz will receive the Vincent J. Dooley Award which is worth $3,000.

    Erin V. Thomas A freshman at Georgia College & State University, Erin is the granddaughter of Charlton Veazey. Charlton lettered in football, basketball, and baseball from 1950-53. Erin will receive the Erk Russell Award which is worth $3,000.

    Paul Weddle Kasay Paul will graduate from Clarke Central High School and will attend either the University of Georgia or Berry College in the fall. He is the son of John Kasay of Athens, GA who lettered in football from 1965-66. Paul will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

    Andrew Joseph Conn A freshman at the University of Georgia, Andy is the son of Dick Conn of Moore, SC. Dick lettered in football from 1971-73. Andy will receive a scholarship worth $2,500.

    Chelsea Elizabeth Shaw Chelsea will graduate from Cedar Shoal High School and will attend the University of Georgia in the fall. She is the granddaughter of Francis Malinowski who lettered in football from 1951-53. Chelsea will receive a $2,000 scholarship.

    Kristina Elizabeth Burt Kristina will graduate from South Forsyth High School and will attend the University of Georgia in the fall. She is the granddaughter of William Burt who lettered in football in 1953. Kristina will receive a scholarship worth $2,000.

    Stephen N. Goodwin A freshman at the University of Georgia, Stephen is the son of Robert Goodwin of Winterville, GA. Robert lettered in football from 1977-79. Stephen will receive a $2,000 scholarship.

    Luke Hammond Rogers Luke is a sophomore at Gordon Jr. College and is the son of Danny Rogers of Watkinsville, GA. Danny lettered in football from 1976-79. Luke will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
