Obituary
Phillip Lee Hines, affectionately known as “Phil” was born on September 14, 1962, in
Washington, D.C., to Eddie L. Hines and Barbara A. Hines. At a young age, he accepted Jesus
Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized. On July 3, 2011, Phillip rededicated
his life to the Lord and subsequently joined From the Heart Church Ministries.
Phillip was educated in the District of Columbia Public Schools. He furthered his education at
the University of the District of Columbia where he obtained a degree in Computer Science.
Later, Phillip with his entrepreneurial spirit, started JAMP-XL Computers, an information
technology company in Southeast Washington, D.C. The business is named after his six
sons (Jarell, Antwon, Marocco, Phillip, Xxavier, and Lionel). He adored his children.
Additionally, Phillip worked for the District of Columbia Government for many years;
however, at the time of his passing he was employed by Cavalier Environmental Services, Inc.
On August 20, 2002, Phillip married Renee Boone; and from that union their son, Xxavier, was
born. Phillip enjoyed several pastimes—he loved to fish and eat crabs. Further, he was an avid
Seattle Seahawks football fan who enjoyed watching his beloved team on television. Phillip
departed this earthly life suddenly in the early morning on Sunday, January 31, 2021. He will
be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Phillip leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Renee Hines; mother, Barbara Ann Harper
(George); father, Eddie L. Hines (Wendy); sisters: Cynthia Lomax (Robert), Catherine Hines,
and Lorice Hines; brothers, Isaac Harper (LaTarsha), and Eddie Hines; sons: Lionel (Krsna),
Phillip, Antwon, Jarell, Xxavier, and Marocco; stepsons, Michael Whitfield, and Dalonte
Boone; niece, Chalonte King (Greg); nephew, Colton Hines; great-nephew, Greg King, Jr.;
great-niece, Cynne King; eight grandchildren; a soon to be born great-grandchild; aunts, Edna

In My Heart
I thought of you today. But that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday. And days before that too. I think of you in silence. I often speak your name.
Now all I have are memories. And your picture in a frame. Your memory is my keepsake.
With which I’ll never part. God has you in his keeping.
I have you in my heart.
Brother
Today is full of memories of a Brother laid to rest
and every single one of them is filled with happiness
For you were someone special
always such a joy to know and there was so much pain
when it was time to let you go
That’s why this special message Is sent to heaven above
for the angels to take care of you and give you all my love
A Letter From Heaven By Alena Hakala Meadows
When tomorrow starts without me and I’m not there to see;
the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today; While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me as much as I love you;
And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.
He is Gone (Remember Me) By David Harkins
You can shed tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday. Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he is gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes,
Love and go on.
