Love one another, Love your neighbors, Love your

parent, Love yourself!! John 13:34 “I give you a new

command. Love one another. You must love one another, just as I have loved you.”

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Congratulations to Bob and KarenLea Byington on their 50th wedding anniversary. May God bless on their

many more years to come.

Violet Coleman flew to California and stay with her daughter for three months. We hope that she is having a

nice time with her family.

Kyah Evans and George Evans were thrilled to have Laurie home for Christmas. They joined us for

Candlelight service. We were glad to see Laurie! Come and visit us again!

Ann Marie Hathway enjoyed her time with her family as they celebrated belated Christmas at our church.

Arthur and Susie Nadler are excited to go to Florida! They will drive while her children will fly and meet

them there. Susie’s son wants to celebrate 5th anniversary of his lung transplant so he has been arranging the

celebration for whole family including his brothers and their families and parents.

We received email from Carol Ann Pickell. Her note said “Wish Our Savior Deaf Lutheran members and

friends a Happy New Year! You are always in my thought and often thinking of you my dear friends that I do

still miss very much. I really enjoyed living in Madison and Spring Green for seven years. I just want to share

with you that I am scheduled for my 3rd surgery for my right hip replacement on Jan 21. My left hip and

shoulder replacements had been so god with much less of pains. Pray for my strengths.” Love in Christ, Carol

Shirley Frazier, one of our members is an amazing lady. Why? She managed to get several projects done

within one month. First she had surgery on her neck on October 30 and was wearing a cast around the neck for

six weeks.. In spite of her cast, she organized an event at Berries Brothers Coffee Roasters in Waterloo last

November 21. The tour was very educational and interesting. We learn how coffee is prepared from beans to

coffee grounds. How different flavored coffee is made and the smell was wonderful. After the tour we had

good lunch and spent some money on gifts and coffee grounds.

Again Shirley with her husband, Lee took up the responsibility of the 9th annual Coffee Chat breakfast party at

the Egg and I on December 18th. Special guest speaker, Joel Mankowski shared very interesting information

on deaf and WSD history. Other things, door prizes and signing Christmas songs were included. It was

reported that the attendees enjoyed the party. Now we are looking forward to be celebrating the 10th

anniversary of Coffee Chat this coming December.

Darlene Rubiano with help of her sister, Mary Ann threw a very nice birthday party

for Alexander who just became 80. Alex was happy to see his former students and

players. The party was held at the

Madison Association of the Deaf clubhouse.

LeRoy and Donna Elmer are very proud of their daughter, Sherry. Sherry completed

her training in CMA program last December. She just passed the test and now is a certified medical assistant.

She now works at GHC clinic as a medical assistant.

Prayers: Eugene Weld has been sick and developed pneumonia and now is staying at St. Mary Hospital.

Bill Binn has been ill, Dianne who just got better after staying in the hospital, Bob Nichols is doing good at the

Badger Care Center in Verona.

Message from the editor

Rev. Reinke has worked hard to improve the website which should be easier to use. I strongly encourage you to sign up for email to HH. Reason: to save us more mon-ey. Please try this out and let us know whether you like the website or not. When I arrived at church this morning, I could not believe what I saw on the parking area and sidewalk. The ice was all over and so smooth, David Buntin was brave enough to take action by hitting the ice with a snow shovel. Dawn came to my res-cue and walked with me. She even did some “dances” (sliding) Other men joined David and were able to make a safer path all the way from the church to parking ar-ea. Richard volunteered to make a purchase of several bags of sand. Big Help. Bless them. Perhaps you wonder why there is a picture of icicles in this issue. That is how we saw so much ice….
