It doesn’t quite seem like we’re near the end of the year yet, but my calen- dar reminds me every time I try to schedule an appointment. We have several more important things on our program for the year and we would love to have your participation. Be- sides hosting our wonderful pumpkins class with Karen Ort- man, November brings us the opportunity to vote for our new project slate for 2016-2017. Please stop by and see the projects and place your vote, or choose the online voting option. We will also vote for our new slate of officers. (See page 4.) In case you missed it, we had a lovely time painting the Ro- galand Candle Tree (designed by JoSonja Jansen) with Onya Tolmasoff. This piece got better with each stroke and was a wonderful challenge. We learned that in Rosemaling, cross hatching is used to ward off evil spirits, and “texture is our friend.” We also learned the difference between a teardrop and comma stroke. Do you know the difference? If not, you’ll have to ask someone who took the class. Thank you so much, Onya, for sharing your teaching and painting talents with us. I would like to send out additional kudos and thanks to Lin- da Silvasy for arranging the Ways and Means raffle, and the artists: Sandy Garcia and Lorraine Perkins for their amazing pieces. The lucky winners were thrilled! Well, it’s time to organize and prioritize the painting and crafting lists. Get out your paint brushes, varnish, paints, glitter, and get busy. PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Hi Ladies, Welcome to the month of feeling grateful. It doesn’t quite seem like we’re near the end of the year yet, but my calen-dar reminds me every time I try to schedule an appointment. We have several more important things on our program for the year and we would love to have your participation. Be-sides hosting our wonderful pumpkins class with Karen Ort-man, November brings us the opportunity to vote for our new project slate for 2016-2017. Please stop by and see the projects and place your vote, or choose the online voting option. We will also vote for our new slate of officers. (See page 4.) In case you missed it, we had a lovely time painting the Ro-galand Candle Tree (designed by JoSonja Jansen) with Onya Tolmasoff. I would like to send out additional kudos and thanks to Lin-da Silvasy for arranging the Ways and Means raffle, and the artists: Sandy Garcia and Lorraine Perkins for their amazing pieces. December Paint-In:

There is NO official Christmas/Holiday party this year because we did not have anyone volun-teer to chair that committee. Instead, we will have an open-paint day with a potluck on our regularly

scheduled December 5h date, starting at 9:00 a.m. Bring ornaments, unfinished projects, or any-thing else that you want to work on. There is NO fee for this paint-in. If you paid for a holiday party, please contact Joanne Schutz (treasurer) to get a refund. Please DO sign up in the program book anyway so we know how many people will be there. We will be having an optional Gift Exchange ($15.00 and under) at this meeting.

December Pot Luck Lunch

If you are attending the December 5 Paint-In, please sign the clipboard sheet at the November meeting to bring a dish. For this meeting everyone is being asked to bring a yummy “food” thing. If you don’t sign the sheet, please call or e-mail me and let me know what choice you will bring between a casserole, salad or des-sert. I will be touching base with gals we don’t hear from. Coffee will be brewing but bring your own cold drinks for the day. Please provide a serving dish and utensils if they are needed for your dish. Any questions or ideas, call or e-mail Marilyn D.
