PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Season’s Greetings:
As we once again begin the holiday rush, I just want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a safe and happy holiday season. En-joy family and friends and try to relax!
Once again Jack Ragland challenged us to “loosen up” in our painting, I have started doing that and appreciated the oppor-tunity to try again. Jack’s unique teaching style and quiet sug-gestions proved to be successful as most of the painters either finished their piece or were very close to it. Thank you, Jack. I was happy to see some new faces in November and a few members we haven’t seen in a while. If you know someone who hasn’t been around recently, invite them back to paint with you. Once again, Kenna and Renee did a fabulous job setting up and organizing the project vote for next year. There were so many beautiful projects to choose from. I hope everyone got to vote, but if you didn’t, keep a lookout for the new projects for next year. Programs is still available for someone to step in, please con-sider volunteering, we need this position filled. It is possible if it isn’t filled, we won’t have any projects for 2019. I know this is a time commitment, but PHP is such a great group of people to work with. If you think you can help, let me know. I’m looking forward to the Christmas party on December 2, hope to see you there. Ramona has worked so hard to provide a great venue and wonderful raffles. If you would like to volunteer to chair the Christmas party for next year let me know. Linda

November 1, 2017 CURRENT Article XIV: Dissolution
In the event of dissolution of the Chapter all liabilities and obligations of the Chapter shall be paid, satisfied, and discharged or adequate provision made thereof. Any remaining funds as are in the treasury at the time shall be given to the Society, or to the Decorative Arts Collection, Inc. as determined by the majority of the membership remaining. Paint-In Location: San Marcos Mobile Estates Clubroom 1145 East Barham Drive San Marcos, CA 92078 Driving Directions to San Marcos Mobile Estates: If you are coming from the 5, you will be traveling East on the 78 Hwy. You will get off at the Woodland Parkway/ Barham Dr. exit. Continue till the light and make a left hand turn, you will be on Barham Rd., continue & you will go through 2 more lights after the second light (La Moree), make sure you are in the right hand lane, because you will make a right hand turn into my Mobile Home Park, drive straight ahead, till you have to either turn left or right and make a right then an immediate left you will see the pool area. Parking is all along the pool area, the clubhouse is up the brick stairs. If you are coming from the Hwy 15 take the 78 Hwy West. Take the Woodland Pwky/Barham Dr. exit. You will be going on a cloverleaf, stay to your right and go to the light and make a right, on Woodland Pkwy, go under the underpass and get in the left hand turn lane to make a left on Barham Dr. From here follow the same instructions as I wrote for com-
ing from the Hwy 5.

Returning PHP members will get a $10 discount for the 2018 year (dues = $5) to offset the increase in 2018 SDP dues. This discount will be available to those who renew by Saturday, December 2, 2017 (the Christmas Party). After that date the regular fee of $15 applies. New members to the chapter will still pay the $15 membership fee. All SDP memberships should be renewed by December 1,2017 (unless you joined recently and have a dif-ferent effective date). To renew your SDP membership online: Go to decorativepainters.org and click on Membership and then click on Renew from the dropdown menu. You will have to login as a member. If you have never logged onto the new site, you will have to create a new password. Your userid is the email address which the SDP has on file for you. A link to create a new password will be emailed to you. Click the link and fill out the boxes. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. At the bottom of the “Order Confirmation” page (after you have paid), there is a line at the bottom that says “Send another copy to:” Please put in [email protected] in that box. That way I will receive proof of your SDP membership and you won’t have to send it to me. You must show proof of SDP member-ship to be a member of our chapter.
