CARTAGENA COLOMBIAColombia’s Beautiful Seaside City

Cartagena is the capital of the Bolívar Department of Colombia and the nation’s fifth largest city. Originally inhabited by indigenous cultures dating as far back as 4000 B.C., the city was settled in by the Spanish 1533 and went on to play a key role in the expansion of the Spanish empire. Its colonial walled city became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. Several movies have been filmed or set in Cartagena, including 2007’s Love in the Time of Cholera, based on a book of the

same name by Colombian novelist Gabriel García Márquez.

Arrive in Cartagena and make your way to the port where you’ll board the MS Saint Laurent. This evening, share cocktails on deck as you watch the sun set over the Caribbean Sea.

San Blas Islands, PanamaDAY 2

This afternoon, we’ll arrive in the San Blas Islands, an archipelago of more than 370 islands and cays of which fewer than 50 are inhabited. Going ashore by Zodiacs, we’ll explore the islands and meet the local people. The San Blas Islands sit off the north coast of the Isthmus of Panama, east of the Panama Canal, and are populated by the self-governing Kuna Yala, one of the most culturally cohesive tribes of indigenous people. Kuna women are renowned for their intricate and very distinctive needlework. Traditional crops are guinea, corn, sugarcane, and coconut. This evening, we’ll gather onboard for a welcome reception, followed by dinner.

Panama Canal CrossingDAY 3

Today, we’ll enjoy a daytime transit of the Panama Canal, a 48-mile-long corridor that connects the Atlantic Ocean (via the Caribbean Sea) to the Pacific Ocean. The canal cuts across the Isthmus of Panama and is a key conduit for international maritime trade. There are locks at each end to lift ships up to Gatun Lake, an artificial lake that sits 85 feet above sea level, which was created to reduce the amount of excavation work required for the canal. The current locks are 110 feet wide. An expansion of the canal, designed to add a third lane of locks, was begun in 2007 and is ongoing.

This tour begins in the afternoon with a scenic drive to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort, a five-star hotel near the historic Chagres River in the midst of the fifty-five-thousand acre Soberanía National Park. After a short welcome reception, we’ll board the Aerial Tram for breathtaking views of the forest. Gliding smoothly through the treetops, we’ll experience the sights and sounds of the tropical rainforest firsthand. After our tram adventure, we’ll enjoy leisure time to visit the butterfly farm, aquarium, and orchid garden before returning to the ship.

Panama City, PanamaDAY 4

This morning we’ll call at Panama City and delve into the victories and tragedies that shaped modern Panama, once known as the “Pearl of the Pacific.” The original city of Panama, built in 1519, was an important trade center for gold and silver and the launching point for expeditions that conquered the Inca of Peru. It was destroyed by the infamous Welsh Captain Henry Morgan in 1671. In 1673, El Casco Viejo (Old Quarter) was built on a peninsula with a system of walls for defense. After our touring these sites, we’ll return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon is yours to enjoy relaxing or exploring on your own.

Darién National Park, PanamaDAY 5

After a breakfast this morning, we’ll embark on a Zodiac excursion into the Darién jungle, a lush rainforest surrounded by the Sierra de Jungurudo Mountains. Darién is the largest national park in Central America. It includes five distinct wildlife zones and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. The native people of the Darién jungle—the semi-nomadic Wounaan and Emberá—decorate their bodies with black geometric tattoos. They use dugout canoes to navigate the many rivers and streams of the jungle and still use blowpipes for hunting. During our excursion, we’ll watch for local

This afternoon, we’ll arrive in Coiba Island and embark on another exciting excursion. A UNESCO World Heritage Site located 14 miles off the mainland, Coiba is the largest uninhabited tropical forested island in the Americas. Its untouched rainforest is home to the Coiba Island howler monkey and a haven for birdlife and other animals that have largely disappeared from the mainland.

This afternoon, we’ll arrive in Costa Rica’s Golfo Dulce (sweet bay). Golfito, one of only three tropical fjords in the world was once the center of a pre-Columbian culture. Today, it is a sanctuary for marine life such as dolphins, sea turtles, marlin, and red snapper as well as anteaters, three-toed sloths, howler monkeys, white-faced capuchin monkeys, scarlet macaws and hummingbirds. Boarding our Zodiacs, we will cruise along the coast, sighting pelicans and dolphins occasionally along the way.

Arriving at the Osa Peninsula today, we’ll board our Zodiacs and go ashore to access a network of established trails within the reserve that lead through beach, jungle, and forest to a freshwater pool. This forest is home to three species of monkeys, toucans, parrots and other exotic wildlife. Manta rays, dolphins, and olive ridley sea turtles are frequently spotted near the sandy beaches of the peninsula. This evening, back on board, we’ll share stories and photos from another magical day as the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean.

This morning, we’ll board our Zodiacs once again for a magical half-day excursion in Manuel Antonio National Park. Established in 1972 this park is well known for its beautiful beaches and hiking trails. In 2011, Manuel Antonio was listed by Forbes as one of the world’s 12 most beautiful national parks. Highlights include: impressive landscapes, hidden coves, white sand beaches, and lush tropical foliage that grows right up to the high-tide line. The park boasts 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds. After an exhilarating day ashore, we’ll gather this evening for a grand farewell dinner in the ship’s main dining room.

After breakfast, you’ll disembark the MS Saint Laurent and make your way to the airport for your flight home or your optional post-cruise trip to Monteverde and the Arenal Volcano.

HIGHLIGHTS

Arrive in Cartagena, Colombia and make your way to the Hilton Cartagena Hotel (or similar). After check in, enjoy leisure time, including lunch and dinner on your own. The following morning, you’ll be greeted by your guide and board our motorcoach for a half-day tour of Cartagena. We’ll begin with a drive through the Bocagrande neighborhood to the Convent of La Popa, built at the beginning of the 17th century on the hill of the same name. We’ll stop here for a tour of the convent and time to enjoy the magnificent view of the city and the bay.

Next, we’ll continue on to San Felipe’s Fort, built in the 17th century to protect the city’s inhabitants from invaders. After a tour of this impressive fortress, we will browse the art galleries and shops of Las Bóvedas and walk through the charming Old Walled City. Next, arrive at the Plaza of San Pedro Claver, named in honor of the Catalonian monk who was known as the patron saint of slaves. Finally, we’ll stop at an artisan popsicle shop and enjoy a cool local specialty before returning to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy as you wish, with lunch and dinner on your own at any of Cartagena’s inviting restaurants. You may also wish to embark on an optional tour such as the popular Salsa Demonstration. After breakfast the next morning, make your way to the airport for your flight home or to the port for the cruise portion of your vacation.

Upon arrival in San José (Porto Caldera), Costa Rica, you’ll be met by your guide and board an air-conditioned motorcoach for the 2.5 hour drive to Monteverde’s Hotel Fonda Vela (or similar). After check in, enjoy leisure time, including lunch and dinner on your own. The following morning, you’ll be greeted by your guide and begin the day with a walking tour (about two hours) in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, which spans over 10,500 hectares and ranges in altitude from 3,900 - 5,250 feet. The reserve consists of six ecological zones boasting extremely high biodiversity, including the largest number of orchids in the world. After our walk, we’ll board the ferry for a scenic one-hour cruise across Arenal Volcano Lake. Upon arrival in Arenal, we will check in to the Arenal Springs Resort & Spa (or similar). Enjoy free time in the resort and lunch and dinner on your own. The next day, we’ll make our way to Tabacón Hot Springs, a “hot” river that flows through lush tropical gardens, pools, and waterfalls. The water is heated by magma in the earth’s interior, percolates through the mineral-rich crust, then rises to the surface. You’ll have 1.5 hours to swim and soak in these soothing waters. Then, we’ll gather for lunch at the local Ave del Paraiso restaurant. In the afternoon, we’ll drive to Arenal Volcano National Park for a guided walk (1.5 hours). Known worldwide for its near-perfect cone shape, Arenal Volcano reaches 5,437 feet at its peak. Once one of the most active volcanoes in the world, an explosion in 1968 destroyed all vegetation that covered the cone and buried three villages. The volcano is now in a resting stage. Next, we’ll drive through the town of La Fortuna and stop in Sarchí to visit with local artists who are renowned for their fine woodwork and elaborately painted oxcarts. Enjoy dinner on your own before checking into the Real Intercontinental San Jose Hotel (or similar). After breakfast the next morning, make your way to the airport for your flight home or to the port for the cruise portion of your vacation.

IMPORTANT NOTICETerms and Conditions apply to all vessels under Haimark Line, Ltd. operation unless otherwise noted. Any and all information contained herein is in effect at the time of printing and is subject to change at any time.

Information contained in this brochure does not form part of any offer or contract. The transportation of guests and baggage on Haimark Line, Ltd. vessels is provided solely by Haimark Line, Ltd. and is governed by the terms and conditions printed on the Passage Contract also available on request at 1-855-HAIMARK. The Passage Contract will be included with your final travel documents and contains complete and important information regarding cancellations, itineraries, Haimark Line, Ltd.‘s liability, health and immigration requirements, and other relevant terms and conditions. The terms and conditions of the Passage Contract will apply to persons who have booked a cruise regardless of whether or not they have embarked the vessel. Please read your Passage Contract carefully. To the extent that any of the information in the brochure conflicts with the terms of the Passage Contract, the terms and conditions contained in the Passage Contract shall control.

Itinerary arrival and departure times are always subject to change without notice. Haimark Line, Ltd. reserves the right to cancel, alter, advance, postpone or substitute any scheduled sailing or itinerary, substitute another vessel for the scheduled ship, or substitute or cancel scheduled ports of call, which, in its sole judgment and discretion, is justified for any reason, and to do so without liability for any loss whatsoever to guests as a result of said change(s). Additionally, Haimark Line, Ltd. reserves the right to cancel reservations and bookings in the event of a full-ship charter, whether or not a deposit or full payment has been received, and in such event, Haimark Line, Ltd.‘s only liability will be to refund to the guest the amount it has received.

Haimark Line, Ltd. makes arrangements for transportation, other than cruise passage, only as a booking agent. Haimark Line, Ltd.’s responsibility does not extend beyond the vessel. In arranging for the transportation of guests to and from the ship, Haimark Line, Ltd. does so with independent contractors. Haimark Line, Ltd. is not responsible for incidents such as airline cancellations, re-routings or any disruption of scheduled services or accommodation,or lost luggage.

While participating in activities during cruises offering Carrier’s expedition program and/or shore excursion program, certain risks and dangers may arise including but not limited to; activities in remote areas, animals and marine live, forces of nature and accident or illness. Carrier does not have any responsibility for the accuracy of any information it provides regarding any activity included in the expedition or shore excursion program and cannot determine and/or assure the suitability of any excursion or activity as to a particular Passenger. All Passengers who participate in any expedition or activity offered by Carrier, accept responsibility for making their own determinations as to the suitability of the activity regarding their own safety, conduct and well-being and agree to participate solely at their own risk. Attending applicable and available information briefings before participation is mandatory. Based on the aforementioned, each participating Passenger assumes the risk associated with any and all activities, excursions and expeditions, included or optional to Passengers and will hold Carrier and expedition team members harmless from and defend them against any and all liability, actions, suits, claims and demands which could arise from participation in any of the aforementioned activities.

All schedules, fares, and terms and conditions listed in this brochure are effective as of October, 2014 and supersede any schedules, prices, and terms and conditions previously published.

All fares indicated in this brochure including land and hotel, are capacity controlled, subject to change at anytime without notice and do not guarantee availability. All are subject to change and/or cancellation without notice.

Travel documents will not be dispatched until full and final payment and passenger contact information has been received by Haimark Line, Ltd. and cleared. For purposes of this Agreement, contact information shall mean a passenger’s full name, passport number, address, telephone number (land and mobile), electronic mail address and emergency contact information and any other information as requested by Haimark Line, Ltd. Haimark Line, Ltd. must be able to reach each passenger’s emergency contact at any time of day. Haimark Line, Ltd. must therefore be provided with all information to allow Haimark Line,

Ltd. to do so (such information should include the name, address, electronic mail address (if available) and phone number (including a cell phone number if available) of a parent, guardian, spouse, domestic partner, or other person to contact in the event of an emergency. No passenger will be allowed to embark a Haimark Line, Ltd. vessel unless Haimark Line, Ltd. has received all information.

CRUISE TARIFFCruise fares cover certain shipboard services including: accommodations, shore excursions, onboard meals and entertainment, complimentary beverages aboard ship where noted in the respective cruise program brochure. All fares are quoted in US dollars, are per guest and based on double occupancy. Not included in your cruise tariff are: airfare, hotel accommodations, optional shore excursions, meals ashore (unless otherwise noted), beverages not highlighted as included, fuel surcharges, laundry (unless otherwise noted), purchases from the ship boutique or any item or service of a personal nature such as medical care, massages and spa treatments.

TRAVEL PROFESSIONALSTravel agents are considered to be the agent of Passenger and not of Carrier. Carrier is not liable for any representation, act or omission of Passenger’s travel agent. Passenger’s cruise fare is not considered paid until Carrier receives full payment, and the amount thereof is subject to change at any time prior to Carrier’s receipt of payment. Passenger shall at all times remain liable to Carrier for the price of passage. Carrier reserves the right to refuse embarkation if all charges and surcharges have not been paid in advance of departure.

DEPOSIT/FINAL PAYMENTTo reserve your cruise, a $850 per person deposit of the cruise fare is required at the time of booking. Pre and/or Post Extension Land Programs are subject to a $250 per person deposit. Final payment is due no later than 120 days prior to departure. Guests will not be permitted to change travel agents once final payment has been received by Haimark Line, Ltd. Final documentation will be issued after receipt of final payment and approximately 30 days prior to sailing. All reservations are subject to cancellation if payments are not received by the due date, and are guaranteed only when paid in full 120 days prior to sailing. Reservations made within 120 days of sailing require full payment within seven days of booking or sooner, as specified by Haimark. Payments may be made by personal check (USD funds), or by VISA®, MasterCard®. Discover®, and American Express®.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDSShould you find it necessary to cancel your reservation or any component thereof, you and/or your Travel Professional are required to contact your Haimark Line, Ltd. directly by telephone as well as submit your cancellation in writing via email to [email protected].

If your cancellation request is received more than 120 days prior to your initial sailing date, a $500 non-refundable administrative fee will be charged per booking. This administrative fee may be not converted to a future cruise credit. Cruise cancellation requests received within 120 days of the initial sailing date will be subject to the following charges, regardless of suite resale: 120 – 91 days prior to the initial sailing date, 50% of the total cruise fare per person; 90–0 days prior to the initial sailing date or nonappearance at the time of sailing, 100% of the total cruise fare per person.

Cruise tickets must be returned to Haimark Line, Ltd. before refunds (if owed) can be processed.

PRE/POST EXTENSION LAND PROGRAM CANCELLATIONSPre and/or Post Land Extension Program cancellations received more than 120 days prior to your initial sailing date are subject to a $100 non-refundable administrative fee and will be charged per booking. This administrative fee may not be converted to a future cruise credit.

Cancellations received within 120 days of the initial sailing date will be subject to the following charges: 120 – 91 days prior to the initial sailing date: 50% of the total cost per person 90 – 0 days prior to the initial sailing date or nonappearance at the time of sailing: 100% of the total cruise fare per person.

HEALTH AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTSAll guests are required to report in writing to Haimark Line, Ltd. at the time their reservation is made:

1. Any physical or mental condition that may require medical or professional treatment or attention during the voyage 2. Any condition that may render the guest unfit for travel, or that may require special care or assistance 3. Any condition that may pose a risk or danger to the guest or anyone else on board the ship 4. Any condition that may require oxygen for medical reasons 5. Any intention or need to use a wheelchair cart, other mobility deviceBy booking passage and by boarding the ship,

the guest represents and warrants that he/she is physically and otherwise fit to travel, and that the guest will comply at all times with applicable rules and regulations of the ship and orders and instructions of the ship’s officers. Haimark Line, Ltd. reserves the right without liability to require a guest to disembark and/or to refuse to board and transport a guest who, in the judgment of Haimark Line, Ltd. or the ship’s Captain, is unfit to travel or may require care beyond that which Haimark Line, Ltd. is reasonably able to provide.

BAGGAGEYou may bring aboard the ship a reasonable amount of clothing and personal effects without charge. Baggage for Haimark Line, Ltd. guests or guests on our land extension programs must be handled in accordance with regulations of our ground operators. Baggage exceeding these limitations is subject to the charges as set forth by the individual operators. Airlines are strict with baggage limitations. Guests are encouraged to contact individual airlines for weight limitations. All baggage must be securely packed, and properly and clearly labeled. Liquid, fragile, perishable and other articles not suitably packed are transported at your own risk. Haimark Line, Ltd. is not responsible for loss or damage to baggage or any other personal item during air travel or land extension programs. Baggage and personal belongings will be taken off the ship upon guest disembarkation. Under no circumstances will baggage be stored on board without the owner of such baggage being on the vessel. Haimark Line, Ltd. is not responsible for baggage stored in shore side facilities. Under no circumstances may dangerous items (including but not limited to: explosives, firearms, combustible or illegal substances) be taken aboard the ship. We recommend that you hand-carry travel documents (passport, visa, cruise tickets), medications and valuables. These items are the full responsibility of the guest at all times. Haimark Line, Ltd. shall not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to, such personal items.

LOST PROPERTYHaimark Line, Ltd. may levy a charge for the return of personal items left onboard or lost and subsequently found.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTSAll travel documents (air and cruise tickets, passport and medical insurance information) are the guest’s responsibility. It is also the guest’s responsibility to obtain any necessary visas and public health documents for all applicable ports and to comply with all customs requirements. Without the required documents, a guest may be denied boarding and accommodation by Haimark Line, Ltd. or the guest may be disembarked during the voyage and Haimark

Line, Ltd. will not make a refund or be otherwise liable to any guest for such denial of boarding or disembarkation. In the event that Haimark Line, Ltd. as a courtesy provides information or advice as to necessary travel documents, visas and medical inoculations, guests are still obligated to verify such information with the appropriate government authorities and Haimark Line, Ltd. does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy of such information. Passports are required to be valid six months beyond intended stay. Please check with the appropriate consulate for specific requirements. Security measures imposed by governments may change from time to time and each guest will be required to comply with them. As a courtesy, we will endeavor to provide each guest with notice of measures that may affect them, but complying with any such requirements is the sole responsibility of each guest. Please consult your travel professional for advice on such requirements to avoid loss of boarding privileges.

TAXES, GOVERNMENT FEES/QUASIGOVERNMENT FEES AND FUEL SUPPLEMENTSHaimark Line, Ltd. reserves the right to pass through to its guests (including fully paid and deposited guests) any taxes and government fees/quasi-government fees that relate specifically to a guest’s itinerary. “Taxes and Government fees/quasi-government fees” include any and all fees, charges, surcharges, tolls and taxes imposed by governmental or quasi-governmental authorities including, but not limited to, customs fees, per person berth taxes or fees, embarkation and/or disembarkation fees at ports, airline transportation fees, dockage fees, and wharfage fees.

Haimark Line, Ltd. reserves the right to charge a per person fuel supplement in the event that the price of increases up to and including the day of embarkation. Haimark Line, Ltd. may collect any taxes, government fees/ quasigovernment fees and fuel supplement (the “Surcharges”) at the time of booking, prior to sailing or on board the vessel, even if the cruise fare has been paid in full. Surcharges will be invoiced accordingly.

All fares, and itineraries are subject to change without notice. Additional restrictions may apply. Haimark Line, Ltd. reserves the right to correct any errors or omissions.
