IT is now clear that video applications play a fundamental

role in many areas, from road control

to medical and industrial applications,

from process control to video surveillance, which has

become a strategic factor in

major applications of active security. The video image

resolution therefore plays an important and decisive role

in perceived quality and overall system performance. So

far, high definition has been associated with IP cameras,

which are not

always suitable for all applications due to intrinsic costs

(product / network architecture) and, above all, because

specific skills are required for their installation, configuration

and use. Today, HD-SDI technology allows you to transmit

and record FULL-HD quality (1080p) images even based on

analogue infrastructure. No specific skills required in telematic

networks, unmatched system performance, zero latency, quick

THE ADVANTAGES

The HD-SDI standard, which has been already used in television for the

transmission of high definition images, combines Full HD video capture and recording quality with coaxial cable wiring reliability.

High definition in video surveillance and video recording

Urmet HD-SDI cameras produce Full HD (1920x1080p) images in real time (25 fps).

DVR units can record Full-HD images on all channels (in real time for all the video channels for some

models).

No quality degradation and zero latency

With the HD-SDI technology the video signal is not compressed by any codec. The image is not deteriorated

or compromised featuring very high definition for the smallest details at a transmission speed with zero

latency.

Use of analogue infrastructure with a coaxial cable

HD-SDI devices are installed and used in a similar way to conventional devices not requiring, therefore, any specialist

knowledge on the part of the installer. The coaxial cable is used for transmission of video signals. It must necessarily

have good quality characteristics and transmission distances depend on the characteristics of the infrastructure. The

use of signal repeaters further extends the capability of HD-SDI technology, allowing you to double or triple transmission

distances.

Configuration: no problem with the configuration over IP

The HD-SDI technology allows you to overcome difficulties related to system network configuration.
