Tilts is the title of the FBI HQ tickler but it cannot be the complete 1.1arine Corps file on Oswald. Much is what the WC published, and the sums omissions/110V are in both. Most of this tickler consists of his discharge records, there is no detail on his assignments, and there are soi refeeenecs to the counts martial. There is a reference or two to naneuvers at Iwo Jima by no reference to the special assignments that sere testified to before the WC, like Strongback. One or two references to Bing at (.;ubi Point. 11, couple to his knowledge of Russian but not of any official interest in"this other than everyday development in a ikarine. It is inevitable that the Marines has meaningful records of his duty assignments that are not in thia tickler. I do not recall any "urine equivalent of what I think in the army was sailed a Form 20, although it may be here. T t is

There is a xerox of an envelope with two ention, 1) Summary - Places of assignment, which includes not a thing of but I note above is missing and is of the briefest and most general nature, and 2) Former linrine Corps Associates interviewed. (11:11KV Wore not and many wore not associates.) ,

Powers wan with him from Jx training and remained with bin until LBO returned to the US. Interesting to ue, and what I do not recall from his testimony, 'Powers is quoted an sayin;.; that at Cubi The group limm guarded a U-2 there."

Lt. Col Poindexter said there was no investigation by UfliC after Oswald went to USSR. This is not new but it remains exceptional enci the file includes no ex-planation of why there was no investigation.

In 6/57 same group went to £1 Toro, Calif. and in 8/57 they went to

Japan.

On ship Powers played chess with LHO. On ship WO read "The Leaves of

Grass" by Whitman and "Age of Reasoning." LHO preferred to remain alone and

read on board the

LHO vent to Philippines - Cubi Point. The group guarded a U-2 there.

They then went to Conigida. Before going there one of the group was killed

while on guard duty. In 5/58 the group returned to Japan and LEO returned

to U. 8. This was last time Powers

Powers believed LHO had Japanese girlfriend in Japan.

Powers recalls LHO studied Russian while in Japan.

LHO was a "loner." He was antagonistic to discipline. not in sympathy

with esprit de corps of Marine Corps.
