HELLO FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
Where has the summer gone? It seems like I just walked through the door and it’s October! Actually I did just walk through the door a few months ago. Let me introduce myself. My name is Kevin Flynn. I recently relocated from beautiful Lake Powell, AZ to help guide Palm Creek to become the place you want to be forever. What a community we have here—beautiful scenery, beautiful weather, and great new possibilities to make new friends; reunite with old friends, relax and catch up on life. We are truly a lucky group!
This is an exciting time of year at Palm Creek. Our awesome staff has been working hard all summer to make your stay with us a wonderful experience. We have a great lineup of special events and activities planned for this winter season. Music, dancing, a variety of clubs that is like nowhere else. As you read though this newsletter, you will get to see our great staff and a little about what we do. Want to spruce up your home? We have you covered! Want to learn stained glass? We have you covered! Pickleball your sport? We have you covered! What can I say, life is good! Please, make a point to get out there and enjoy yourselves.

Greetings from Guest Services!
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Palm Creek this fall!
Some friendly reminders:
Be sure to stop by Guest Services to check-in with us and get a new badge.
New badges are required in order to obtain an annual parking sticker.
Don’t forget the Work Order Station located across from Guest Services.
No need to stand in line at Guest Services, just fill out your requests and
drop them in the black box! Site Improvement Forms are also located
there; don’t forget you need a permit to do any work on the outside of
your home/lot and for any electrical changes/additions.
Landscaping requests have changed as of August 1st. Palm Creek’s
Landscaping team will only perform trimmings at a charge of $25 per hour.
All other landscaping requests, including irrigation installation and repair,
must be performed by an outside vendor.
The speed limit in the park has been reduced to 10 mph and several new
stop signs have been installed. The speed limit and stop signs pertain to
EVERYONE – cars, golf carts and bicyclists. Please help keep our park safe.
You will receive a new copy of the park’s rules and regulations and we
encourage you to take the time to read them. Please do your part to
keep the park looking beautiful by keeping yard art to a maximum of
four pieces and minimizing the amount of clutter outdoors.
As a reminder to our pet owners, retractable leashes are not allowed
and dogs must be on leashes at ALL times when outside of the home/RV.
Also, please do not let your dogs walk on others’ lots.
Lastly, please clean up after your pets.

Welcome Back!
I hope you had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to all the fun
activities here at Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort this season.
Our summer has been very productive in the Rental Department, making
sure our rentals meet the standards our Palm Creek Guests expect. We have
renovated several of our older homes and have added 21 new homes to our
rental program for a total of 79 homes. We are happy to say all homes are
completely booked for the season.
With that being said, don’t forget to let your friends who want to visit during
the holiday months and April know that we have rentals available for their
stay.

Hello Friends!
I’m back from a wonderful summer with family and friends in Spokane, Washington. While most of my time was spent with relatives (especially kids/grandkids), I had the opportunity to visit some of our “extended” Palm Creek family in Vulcan, Alberta and Minnesota. The reach of our Palm Creek family is truly amazing and obviously doesn’t stop when the season is over. Nearly 60 of us met in Alberta, and 8 of us met in Minnesota. We are so blessed to call Palm Creek our winter home, and our friends are definitely the #1 reason we keep returning.
Our advance ticket sales tells me many of you have already reviewed our lineup of entertainment and events, and agree we have a lot of fun ahead of us! This month, check out the Oktoberfest party on October 28th with German food and entertainment, and prost with your friends. Right after that, we’ll have our first dance of the season with a Halloween theme on October 29th. If costumes are not your thing, don’t worry – just wear a smile and comfortable clothes to boogie.
After the summer break, I’m refreshed and ready to kick-off another incredible season -- are you?

Well, here we go into another fun and exciting season.
Our office will be opening on the 17th of October, so you may come and pick up your tickets any time after that.
Our first dance of the season will be on Saturday, October 29th. Our band will be DJ and the Midnight Sun—don’t let the name fool you, this is a band and not a DJ. We had them last year and they are very good, playing all of your favorite dance songs.
We have a fantastic line-up of shows, dances, and bus trips planned for everyone. We also have some new clubs starting up this season, so be sure to stop in and check everything out.
I look forward to seeing all of you again, and welcome back to our little bit of paradise here in the desert. See you soon!

USAPA 2016 NATIONALS VIII
Palm Creek's Pickleball Club is looking for folks to photograph the USAPA National Pickleball Tournament. If you have an hour or two to spare, we'd love to have you join us. With nearly 10 days of tournament play, we need as many photographers as we can round up.
Feeling a bit rusty? Our chief photographer, Tom Gottfried, will be holding a few photo tip sessions before the tournament to help sharpen your skills.

The Pro Shop will open for the season on Tuesday, November 1st. The back
nine of the golf course is scheduled to open on November 1st. The front nine is
scheduled to open on November 18th. Please stop by the Pro Shop on opening
day to say hello and to see all of our new merchandise.
Our golf leagues will begin the first week of November. You may start signing
up on Monday, October 24th for the first week of leagues in the Golf Operations
office or call x7973.
The men’s league is on Monday with a 9:00 start with a cookout
following golf. Those not playing golf are encouraged to join us for
lunch on our patio.
The women’s league is on Wednesday with a 9:00 start.
The mixed scramble league is on Friday with a 9:00 start.
There are several new golf events planned throughout the season both for
leagues and regular social events. We hope that you will join us for many of
these new events. The full swing and short game golf clinics will begin in
December and I hope to help you all with your game.

It is hard to believe that October is here. Our parents
were right when they told us the older we get the faster
time goes.
Starting Monday, October 3rd, we will be open:

Don’t forget to wear
up-to-date badges when coming into the Mail Room.
Packages and mail will not be given out without it.
Another reminder is that checking in with Guest Services does not open
your mail box. You must come into the Mail Room or notify us by email
at [email protected] or by phone (520) 826-8978.
The October Happenings will be put in every box that is open at present, but starting in November
you must sign up for it in the Mail Room or Activities. We start out with a fresh list every November,
so even if you signed up for it last year you must do it again.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back. You may be asking “Hoosier” new food service manager? That would be me, Robin Perry. After years of freezing in northeast Indiana, I am now a fulltime resident of Casa Grande and have finally thawed out. Now that I have settled in, I am excited to share with you, one of the things that I learned as a restaurant owner for 21 years: good, home-cooked food brings families and friends together. I am pleased to highlight some new food items that will be available to you in our Bistro. Deli sandwiches will be fresh and “made-to-order” with a new selection of fresh breads and deli meats, sliced and baked in our kitchen. We will be offering new salads and returning your favorites. I think you will be very happy with our new prices. You will also have a choice of a salad or sandwich only, as well as a combo. Macaroni salad, potato salad and coleslaw, home-made from our kitchen, will be made available as a combo side instead of chips if desired. Your Bistro will open on October 31. Please stop by and check us out. We will be offering free samples of our salad, as well as any of our new deli meats and cheeses on Opening Day! It’s going to be a fantastic season, and I look forward to meeting you!

All city residents, businesses, churches, and schools are invited to Adopt-a-Street or Park within the City of Casa Grande. These groups are invited to come out and help clean up their adopted area. TRUNK ’R TREAT The Calling all ghouls, goblins and ghosts of all ages! Join us for this safe alternative to trick-or-treating. Cars will be lining up in the Senior Center parking lot with trunks full of goodies. Children of all ages are invited to go from trunk to trunk to collect their treats! Trunk Hosts Wanted! Seniors and community agencies are invited to host a trunk at this event. Participating trunk hosts are asked to decorate the back of their vehicle and provide two bags of sealed candy to be given away at the event. Donations of sealed candy bags are also accepted at the Dorothy Powell Senior Center beginning in September. All donations are appreciated! Check the current Community Services Department Activity Guide for date of this event.
