All diseases that pertain to the gastrointestinal tract are labeled as digestive diseases. This includes diseases of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, the ileo-cecal complex, large intestine (ascending, transverse, and descending colon), sigmoid colon, and rectum. The pancreas is a glandular organ in the digestive system and endocrine system of vertebrates. It is both an endocrine gland producing several important hormones and a digestive organ.

Warning Signs of a Shoulder Injury If you are experiencing pain in your shoulder, ask yourself these questions:

- Is your shoulder stiff? Can you rotate your arm in all the normal positions?

- Does it feel like your shoulder could pop out or slide out of the socket?

- Do you lack the strength in your shoulder to carry out your daily activities?

- Orthopedic surgeons group shoulder problems into the following categories.

Sometimes, one of the shoulder joints moves or is forced out of its normal position. This condition is called instability, and can result in a dislocation of one of the joints in the shoulder. Individuals suffering from an instability problem will experience pain when raising their arm. They also may feel as if their shoulder is slipping out of place.

Restr i c t ed Motion o the Shoulder or Arm (Impingement) Impingement is caused by excessive rubbing of the shoulder muscles against the top part of the shoulder blade, called the acromion (Scapular – Shoulder Blade). Impingement problems can occur during activities that require excessive overhead arm motion. Medical care should be sought immediately for inflammation in the shoulder because it could eventually lead to a more serious injury.

ENERGY TREATMENTS FOR ELBOW PROBLEMS & THE ARMS

Elbow pain and injuries are common complaints. Many patients come to an orthopedic surgeon's office seeking help for a variety of elbow conditions. Some possible reasons for pain:

Tennis Elbow: Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is the most common injury in patients seeking medical attention for elbow pain. Exactly what causes tennis elbow is

unknown, but it is thought to be due to small tears of the tendons that attach forearm muscles to the arm bone at the elbow joint. Golfer’s Elbow: Golfer's elbow, also called medial epicondylitis, is similar to its counterpart, tennis elbow. The primary differences between these conditions are the location of the pain and the activity that leads to injury. However, both conditions are caused by overuse of the muscles and tendons of the forearm, leading to inflammation and pain around the elbow joint. Olecranon Burisitis: Elbow bursitis, also called olecranon bursitis, causes fluid to collect in a sac that lies behind the elbow, called the olecranon bursa. Elbow bursitis is the most common type of bursitis. A bursa is a slippery, sac-like tissue that normally allows smooth movement around bony prominences, such as the point behind the elbow. When a bursa becomes inflamed, the sac fills with fluid. This can cause pain and a noticeable swelling behind the elbow. The olecranon bursa measures up to 6 cm in length, and can swell to a size larger than a golf ball. Cubital Tunnel Syndrome: Nerve compression syndromes cause symptoms including pain, numbness, and weakness. Nerves can become pinched for a variety of reasons. Most people are familiar with carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition where the median nerve is pinched in the wrist.

ENERGY TREATMENTS FOR KNEE PROBLEMS

Knee pain is an extremely common complaint, and there are many causes. It is important to make an accurate diagnosis of the cause of your symptoms so that appropriate treatment can be directed at the cause. If you have knee pain, some common causes include:

Dislocated Kneecap: A dislocating kneecap causes acute symptoms during the dislocation, but can also lead to chronic knee pain. Baker’s Cyst: A Baker's cyst is swelling in the back of the joint, and is usually a sign of another underlying problem such as a meniscus tear. Bursitis: The most common bursa affected around the joint is just above the kneecap. This is most common in people who kneel for work, such as gardeners or carpetlayers. Plica Syndrome: Plica syndrome is an

uncommon cause of knee pain, and can be difficult to diagnose. The diagnosis is usually made at the time of arthroscopy. (Irritation or Inflammation of the synovial capsule) Osgood-Schlatter Disease: Osgood-Schlatter disease is a condition seen in adolescents and is due to irritation of the growth plate just at the front of the joint.

ENERGY TREATMENTS FOR HIP PROBLEMS

Hip pain is common problem, and it can be confusing because there are many causes. It is important to make an accurate diagnosis of the cause of your symptoms so that appropriate treatment can be directed at the underlying problem. If you have hip pain, some common causes include: Lumbar Pain –Referred Symptoms: Many back and spine problems can cause symptoms around the buttocks and hip. The most common problems that refer pain to the hip region are herniated discs and sciatica. Snapping Hip Syndrome: Snapping hip syndrome is a word used to describe three distinct hip problems. The first is when the IT band snaps over the outside of the thigh. The second occurs when the deep hip flexor snaps over the front of the hip joint. Finally, tears of the cartilage, or labrum, around the hip socket can cause a snapping sensation.

Muscle Strains: Strains of the muscles around the hip and pelvis can cause pain and spasm. The most common strains are groin pulls and hamstring strains. Hip Fracture: Hip fractures are most common in elderly patients with osteoporosis.
