TRANSCRIPT
The GCSE Art and Design course requires
students to complete work at home. This
work will be part of their coursework so its
important that they maintain examination
standards. Providing some basic materials
will help support you child working outside
the classroom. We suggest some colouring
pencils, drawing pencils, different
coloured biros, felt pens, scissors and a
glue stick. You do not need to spend a lot
of money on expensive materials from
specialist shops because many high street
chains and local markets sell good quality
low priced materials.
What support is available for my child?
We offer after school support each night of the week for all GCSE students. They can come and complete coursework
and homework using specialist equipment and materials. Students have access to ICT facilities and a colour printer. At
least one member of staff is available each night for students to speak to and get support. The department offers
specialist papers to complete homework tasks. Any students who do not have resources at home to complete work
may borrow what they need from us.
In year 11 we offer students a day workshop during the February half term to allow them extra time to complete
the examination preparation work .
