We all want to make 2019 the most amazing year ever!!

We want to crush our goals, build our brands, and grow big businesses.

But growth doesn’t come without proper preparation. You have to put yourself in the position to prosper. Creating a business you love doesn’t happen by happenstance, it’s happens because you do what’s necessary to make it happen.

Beyond the strategies, it’s up to you to implement, nurture and feed your passion so that your business grows in a way that aligns with your ultimate vision.

In order to do that you need to lay out a clear cut plan that helps you focus on the actions you must take to go after what you want.

Planning is not just a physical action, it’s a mental exercise that prepares you to put in the work. When it comes to growing your business, how you start is how you finish and no one is going to care about YOUR business like YOU care about your business.

You’re not in business, if you’re the only one who knows it! For the first years of your business, the #1 priority is to get noticed. When I first started, I thought I could build it and they would come. How wrong I was! In order to grow your business, you have to get it out there in front of the people you know will love your work.

So how are you going to GET NOTICED in 2019? Not sure?…let’s start from the beginning.

You can’t know where you’re going, if you don’t know where’s you’ve been. Growth requires you to first acknowledge where you are so you have a better idea of where you’re going.

For me I focused on leveraging Pinterest to get my business in f ront of my perfect f i t fans. WHERE I ’M GOING Ins ide the l ines with Andrea

Pinterest wi l l be my pr imary focus for 2019 but I have also decided to put more effort in Instagram. In order to see growth, I have a lot of work to do. I ’ve begun taking courses, reading blog posts, and subscr ibing to l i s ts owned by Instagram inf luencers. I ’ve also downloaded recommended apps and planning tools I need to get moving in the r ight di rect ion.

My prof i t producing activ i t ies for Instagram wi l l be planning my posts in advance, creating a more consistent v isual story, explor ing l ivestreams and spending at least 30 minutes a day learning. For Pinterest I wi l l be creating mult iple pins for my old and new posts to boost t raff ic and implementing a promotional st rategy for v ial pins.

Now that you know what’s working and what’s not, it’s time to get clear on which profit producing activities you need to focus on to get your business and blog in front of more people.

When you have a focus, you can engage in purposeful, productive and profitable activity. I like to break down my goals into small milestones so I don’t get too overwhelmed. In addition to knowing what action to take, you also want to know when and how. For example, if you plan to use Instagram as your primary growth strategy, what will you need? How much time will it take? What tools or resources will you have to invest in? What will you need to learn so you can implement the strategies in the right way?

In 2018, here are the strategies and tools I used to grow my l i s t .

• I consistent ly publ ished high value, pinnable content on the blog which included i r res ist ible content upgrades and strong cal ls to act ion.

• I also promoted these blog posts on Pinterest and in niche-specif ic Facebook groups to dr ive targeted traff ic back to my s i te.

• I created mult iple opportunit ies on my s i te for v is i tors to opt- in, including cal l to act ion buttons in my header, highl ighted freebie sect ions on my homepage, within my s idebar, footer and within the body of my content.

• I began host ing free monthly chal lenges late in the year that got my audience excited and re-engaged. I t was a great way to add new value and lead into paid bundles and courses.

• Throughout the year I have concentrated on providing tremendous value through my emai l l i s t , offer ing exclus ive f reebies and excit ing new product offer ings.

• I made a point to engage more with my audience, asking them quest ions and reminding them that I have an open door pol icy where they can ask quest ion, get feedback or s imply tel l me how they are doing.

• Grow my list by 35,000 in 2019. • Create more focused sales funnels and pipelines that directly feed the

STEP 03 | NARROWING YOUR FOCUS

So for example, I’ve planned out 12 Prep For Profits workshops, one for each month. I’ve outlined what I will talk about each month, set dates, created opt-in templates, and mapped out the tools and resources I need to make each workshop a success.

For each growth strategy I plan to employ I have gotten crystal clear on what actions I need to take to help me accomplish them. I need you to do the same.

What action do you need to take on a daily basis in order to make your goals happen? Take each goal, milestone and strategy and break it down into actionable steps. Write it down, add a date date, the tools you need and who will get it done.

The plan to grow my subscribers:

• Moving from Aweber to Convert Kit to create a more targeted and focused list-building strategy.

• Adding a pop-up to my homepage to make it easier for people to sign up and convert.

• Hosting monthly Prep For Profits planning workshops to help my community plan for success. Added value = more retention and engagement!

• Producing weekly content to attract new readers and visitors • Scheduling and looping pins every day on Pinterest, participating in

BoardBooster Tribes and investing in Promotional Pins. • Posting content that aligns more with my brand story, engages my

audience and provides more compelling photos. • I will also be updating older lead magnets with new graphics and making

them more attractive. • I will be creating more free lead magnets, content upgrades and free

challenges, because they work!

In 2018, here are the strategies and tools I used to convert subscr ibers into customers.

• I adjusted my pr ice points to make my products more access ible to my target audience.

• I expanded my product offer ings by creating bundles. • I promoted more. You gotta promote to prof i t . • I sent more emai ls to my l i s t on a more consistent basis . • I created more opportunit ies for new subscr ibers to become

customers by adding money mult ipl iers - such as one -t ime-offers or l imited t ime offers - to my sales funnels.

• I used countdown t imers such as deadl ine funnels to create urgency.

• I added video to sales pages giv ing potent ial customers a sneak peak into what they could offer.

• Leveraged free chal lenges to create more engagement and buzz before a bundle or course launch.

• I did a better job of communicating the value of my product offer ings.

You need people and products to make money but you also have to promote. If you are not encouraging your community and asking them to sign up or buy, then they never will.

It is our job as business owners to consistently and constantly communicate our value so that people become customers. The better we become at doing this, the easier it is to grow our businesses.

In 2018 my goal is to create a membership site, launch a physical biz + blog profit planner, and expand my online shop with more product offerings.

For each profit growth goal you want to accomplish this year, what actionable steps do you need to take on a daily, weekly, quarterly basis to ensure the money flows?

The plan to grow my profits:

• Launching a Wordpress based membership site using Memberpress • Launching a physical planner • Re-launching “The Dime Shop” to provide more offerings (templates,

ebooks, planners and guides) • Promoting additional bundles + courses each month • Doing more collaborations to expand my customer base

I’ve tried a few times to launch a membership site but always got side-tracked by the enormity of the task. I’ve learned a lot and have mapped out months of content in advance, integrated the right tools and given myself the creative freedom to put something together that is both functional + beautifully laid out. I also know what I will need help with and set timelines for when I need to get things done so I can plan accordingly and not feel like I am in over my head.
