The group growsCasagrande introduced two new entries during Bauma 2010 in Munich Besides HÜTTE, the group now includes HD Engineering and TEC System.

Advanced technology and wide range of equipment, capable to offer personalized solutions for all kind of demand in geotechnical engi-neering: those are the key words which put Casagrande at the central stage of Bauma 2010. During the fair, the company has confi rmed to be a worldwide leader in engineering, manufacturing and distribution of foundation equipment for the civil engineering contractors.The strength of Casagrande is diversifi cation, which has turned out to be the winning factor to face the fi nancial crisis. In particular, we refer to product diversifi cation which has been reached by the group by its improved offering.Casagrande is nowadays a bigger and stronger group, after the start-up of a new partnership with two companies, introduced for the fi rst time under the same roof at Bauma 2010.Besides the established presence on the German market with HÜTTE-Bohrtechnik along with its specifi c product range (drill rigs up to a weight of 25 tons and accessories for civil engineering), Bauma 2010 represented the opportunity to introduce two new en-tries in Casagrande family: TEC System and HD Engineering.

• TEC System is based in France and manufactures highly sophi-sticated equipment. Namely the CSM equipment for soil mixing and the new CT Fraise highly compact diaphragm wall equipment to be used in urban areas as well as it can be easily converted into a CSM unit. On display also the Abyss unit for soil investigation.

• HD Engineering Hong Kong based company specialized in the manufacturing and supply of foundation equipment for hard rock excavation. On the show a reverse circulation D.T.H. Hammer dia-meter 1650mm was displayed fi tted on a Casagrande B170.

Thanks to interaction and integration, Casagrande is nowadays capable to offer to its customers a complete range of machines and devices for geotechnical works. The factor which enables Casagrande to obtain and maintain a prestigious place in the industry is the ability to offer a personalized solution to job site problems. Furthermore, where Casagrande does not provide the best solution, Hütte, HD Engineering and TEC System can. Casagrande spread the borders not only of the machine range, but even the geographical boundaries, with an operating basis in the main areas of the world: from United States, where Casagrande USA operates, to Far East, with HD Engineering based in Hong Kong. The stronger presence in the European market must be underlined, too: in Italy first, in Germany with Hütte and in France with TEC System.

Three the new companies which have become part of Casagrande’s family in the last years, each one taking into the group its own experience and technical abilities, preserving in the meantime their own personality and specific features.

On a 1200 square meters area, a complete range of hydromills were displayed such as the the FD60C, for 42m depth to be used on a standard Casagrande piling rig B400; the new FD 100 hydromill for 100m excavation depth up to 1,800mm width panels applied on a C900; and the CT fraise, designed and manufactured by TEC System, a compact and diaphragm wall unit which ranges from 520 mm up to 1,000 mm wide panels (this unit was fitted on a B300). On the crawler drill side a comprehensive array of rigs were shown, from the most popular C6 (more than 2,300 units manufactured since its very first days), close to the C8 specifically built for micropiles and jet grouting. Among the innovations on display, the parent company presented the B300 displacement pile for 32m and 620mm diameter; the B300 is an hydraulic piling rig capable of drilling up to 2,500mm to a depth of 70m.Furthermore, the drilling rigs HBR series manufactured by HÜTTE-Bohrtechnik:• HBR 204GT new entry for Geothermal drilling operations in the 10T weight class. Quite compact

and with high extraction force;• HBR 605 dedicated anchor rig which with a new box magazine for rod handling;• HBR 502 multipurpose crawler drill for anchors and micropilies 9T class;• HBR 200 simple and cost effective multipurpose unit.The new entry HD Engineering displayed:• Multidrill on a Casagrande B170: this unit is specific for drilling rock sockets; • HD 51K approx 7T weight but still capable of 4,100mm stroke. It has for its size a high pull back

force of 5.1T. The rotary head provides 748kgm torque. The unit on display has clamps of 300mm diameter.

Last but not least:• Abyss, Tec System brand, powerful and complete for soil investigation works;• desanderD250 designed to be used with the CT fraise and by adding a second unit it works with

the larger hydromills.

Innovative technologies

The strong visual impact, the renewal of the image and the new graphic have been sincerely appreciated by the visitors. Rational architecture, minimal design, modern graphic: this is the winning mix which contributed to its success, together with a proper layout of the equipment. The customers were really enthusiastic to be in a place where the technical features found a modern expression. Casagrande shown off also restyled brands, updated and strong visual impact. Finally, Casagrande introduced an equipment personalized with graphic design inspired to suburban area, coherent with the aim of its products.
