It's Been a Great Run: More than 1,000 registrants and 2,300 guests braved the rainy weather to attend the ninth and final Food Truck Rally and Sunset 5K. The day featured treats from 15 vendors, kids’ games and performances by COD professors and School of Rock, before runners took to the starting line for a scenic 5K race through COD’s campus. Through funds donated by race participants and corporate sponsors, 15 scholarship recipients were awarded full tuition toward spring semester at COD. Scooby-Do0, Where Are You? COD Fashion Studies student Gina Gianni (above, dressed as Daphne) and the Mystery Machine were an attraction at the COD Food Truck Rally and Sunset 5K. A lifelong fan of Scooby-Doo cartoons, she realized a childhood dream four years ago when she turned her Jeep Renegade into a tribute to one of America’s favorite animated cartoon classics. Spice of Life: Students attending COD through the Community College Initiative (CCI) program learned to cook a variety of dishes during a recent culinary exercise at the Culinary & Hospitality Center. Guided by Culinary Arts Professor David Kramer, the group prepped and cooked before sharing a meal together. This year’s CCI class consists of 16 students from 11 countries. Read More

Frida Friendly: In preparation for Frida Kahlo’s artwork coming to COD in 2020, storefront windows in downtown Glen Ellyn now feature Frida installations. The result of an agreement between the MAC, the Village of Glen Ellyn, the owner of Katy’s Boutique and the Glen Ellyn Environmental Commission, the work was designed by Bradley Evans of Anonymous Designs and includes images and quotes from the celebrated Mexican artist.

The inaugural conference featured speakers and topics including leadership, fundraising, volunteerism and advocacy.Registration Rallies: COD is implementing a new registration structure this month to encourage students to get the schedule they need by registering early. Registration rallies will take place to support this initiative, including the Roll With Registration Rally, featuring an interactive photo booth and free cinnamon rolls on Tuesday, Oct. 29, and the All Student Registration Rally on Tuesday Nov. 19.
