THE MASTHEAD

The masthead is usually found at the top of a page, it is basically the title of a magazine or a newspaper. The masthead is the most eye catching convention on a page and has to be distinct.

MAIN IMAGE

The main image takes the centre stage and covers most of the front cover, this image has to be the most attractive picture of the page because it will then grab the audiences attention and make them buy it, just by looking at the attractive main image.

COVER LINES

• The cover lines are used to tell you about various other stories with are in the magazine to draw the readers attention to them. These are usually to get interested in the story so that you need it.

These are the cover lines.

BARCODE AND PRICE

• These are just simple requirements of any magazine so that potential customers can buy the magazine if they wish to.

The barcode and the price will usually be found on the bottom of the magazine front cover.

ISSUE AND DATE

• Magazines also include the issue number and date, this is done to show when it was released and how many magazines that brand name has done. On most magazines they also have the website that people can visit to make the reader more interested in the magazine.

TAGLINE

• A tagline is essentially the slogan which is mainly on the bottom of the page.
