This brochure outlines our public classes and activities but we also manage a significant programme of specialist projects and training throughout the year. This work forms a core part of our charitable mission to tackle disadvantage head-on and work with young people from underprivileged backgrounds or challenging circumstances. The Garage was set up through a partnership between the NELM (North Earlham, Larkman and Marlpit) Development Trust and Norwich Theatre Royal.

Our mission is to help transform the lives of young people, particularly those that are disadvantaged, by providing inspiring, innovative and exciting creative education and leisure activities. We believe that young people, no matter what their background, have the right to enjoy and learn from participation in safe, creative experiences with their peers. This is why we make our activity available to a really wide range of young people and take special care to support those in difficult circumstances through things like our discounts and free bursary scheme.

We work nationally and across the eastern region to develop our skills and ideas and everything we learn. We put into practice in all of our projects and activities, here in Norfolk. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and therefore you can expect the highest quality in everything that we do. All of our staff, tutors and support workers have full enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks and we monitor a stringent safeguarding and child protection procedure so that you can be assured that you are in safe hands.

If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, would like to speak to us about a concern or tell us that we are doing something well, please feel free to get in touch with us. We always want to hear what you think and every bit of information that we get helps us to improve and develop our activities for the next time. More information about our social inclusion work and ways that you can support us can be found at: www.thegarage.org.uk.
