What is the EuropeanLocation Framework?


• An information system to find, view, download, or use geographic information for visualization, analysis and dissemination.

• The gateway to pan-European maps, geographic and land information:

– bringing together geospatial information from different agencies anddifferent countries;

– from the organisations responsible for national mapping, cadaster and land registries.

• It is a technical infrastructure that will:– meet user needs;– create new business opportunities; and– increase the reuse of public sector information.

The Future:European Location Services


• EuroGeographics will build on the project to provide future European Location Services;– Transportation– Cadastral / land registry– Emergency services (Copernicus)– European reporting – EEA– EuroStat – Statistical reporting– Insurance …….

• The achievements of the project will also be used to further test the market, and develop solutions that meet market needs;

• EuroGeographics is working to ensuring its long term future to meet the needs for authoritative reference data on a European and international market.
