One of the unique recreation opportunities found at Lake Oroville are the Floating Campsites. The �oating campsites concept was developed by former Park Supervisor Harold D. Bradshaw. Ten in all, these �oating campsites each accommodate up to �fteen people and provide a toilet and barbecue. RESERVATIONS

All Floating Campsites are subject to reservations made through ReserveAmerica on a year round basis. Call ReservAmerica at 1-800-444-7275. The maximum stay on Floating Campsite is seven consecutive nights. Reservations include parking for three vehicles and launching for three boats. Extra vehicles and boats will be charged upon arrival.

WHAT TO BRING

Remember that staying on the Floating Group Campsite is just like a regular camping except you are on the water. Consequently you will need to bring your own bedding (there are no beds), food, coolers, latern, drinking water, utensils, cook stove, pots & pans, matches, and tarp or canopy for shade.

CHECK-IN TIME

Check-in time is 4:00pm and check-out is 12noon.(Note: it is recommended that check-in occur during the daylight hours so that you can easily locate your campsite. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, registration will take place at the Spillway Boat Launch Area. Speci�c check-in procedures will be given by ReserveAmerica at the time the reservation is mad made.)

RULES and REGULATIONS

1. Pets are prohibited

2. A maximum of three boats (less than 24’ in length) may be secured to the Floating Group Campsite at one time. Leave the rear docking area clear for Service Boat.

3. Check-in time is 4pm and check-out time is 12noon.

4. Loud noise is prohibited at all times. Quiet hours are between10pm and 6am.

5. Loaded �rearms are not allowed in units of the State Park System. 6. Floating Group campsites are available only by advance payment.

7. Jumping or diving from the upper deck is prohibited. This is an unsafe practice.

8. Any free standing tent or canopy may not be af�xed to the structure with nails, tacks, or other sharp objects. Rope ties to hand rails are permitted.

9. No open �res permitted. 10. Vandalism or damages other

than normal wear and tear will be the responsibility of the reserving party.

11. Emergency phone: 911.

12. Fireworks are prohibited.

(Note: if campsites are not reserved they can be rented on a �rst-come-�rst-served basis.)

Lake Oroville was created by the tallest earthen dam in the United States. Completed in 1968, the dam stands 770 feet high with a crest of 6,920 feet long. the scenic lake has 15,500 surface acres with a shore line of 167 miles. No lake in California offers a larger variety of outdoor water activities.

From Hwy. 70 take the Oro Dam Blvd. exit. Proceed east (through the Oroville business district on Hwy. 162) until you reach Olive Hwy. Turn right on Olive Hwy. (Hwy. 162) and proceed approximately 4 miles and turn left on Canyon Drive. Go across the dam. This will take you to the Spillway Launch Ramp.
