A dear friend of mine who made a fortune in Florida

in the radio and cable business told me not long ago,

“Henry, the Federal Government and all of their

regulations are a headache, but once you have

the “license” in the field you’re active in, it builds a

barrier for any new challengers. He was referring to

the construction industry, but the very same line of

Reviewing all nine different types of available FFLs to help you determine which one best suits your needs. It’s

very relevant to make the right choice from the beginning, because altering FFL types after being approved

for your licenses, basically means that you’ll be starting the process all over again. This in return means

generating extra expenses, extra paperwork, extra headaches and a potential downtime for your FFL. As I’ve

indicated earlier, in my experience, when we apply a scenario to real life, 99% of my customers reconsidered

about which FFL they should apply for after getting in touch with me.

Setting up the FFL correctly. The correct setup, or foundation, is vital and will make sure the ATF Approves

other day that the ATF agent asked if she could postpone their meeting because she had forgotten her ATF

interview instructional manual at her office, and my customer replied the agent saying it wasn’t an issue

because he had a copy! He asked if it was the 88-page manual and after getting over the surprise, she replied

affirmatively.

What is a Class 3 License?The today’s markets’ hottest firearms are silencers. After you attain a FFL License and you are eligible to apply for a Class 3 (SOT) License, which permits you to purchase and sell silencers, machine guns and short-barreled rifles and sell them to your clients.

Yes, silencers, machine gun and SBRs are all entire legal, but you need an additional Dealer Licenses if you want

to be allowed to sell them. The official ATF license for this is referred to as a SOT, or Special Occupation Tax. In

street slang it’s also called “Class 3 Dealer,” but insiders and the ATF mention the holders of this license also as “SOT

Dealer” or “NFA Dealer.”

The abbreviation ‘NFA’ stands for the “National Firearms Act”. This act was put in place in 1934 to manage the

transfer of machine guns, silencers and SBRs by differences in taxation. The SOT license permits Class 3 Dealers

to acquire silencers, machine guns and short-barreled firearms without paying for the tax stamp that a non- dealer

has to buy. Certainly, some states have declared these particular items illegal, although in most states a dealer can

possess and own NFA items if he is a SOT/Class 3 License holder. I am a SOT license holder in TX, ND, NE, WY & MT

and I use this license to sell silencers in all the states I have mentioned. If wish to make money, you should know that

the boundaries on these items are astonishing!
