IMPORTANT DEFINATIONS
Section 2 (a) Adult means a person who has completed his 18th year ofage.
Section 2 (b) Adolescent means who has completed his 15th year ofage but has not completed his 18th year.
Section 2 (c) Child means a person who has not completed his 15thyear of age.
Section 2 (d) Young Person means who is either a child or anadolescent.
Section 2 (cb) Hazardous Process means any process or activity in
relation to any industry specified in first schedule, where unlessspecial care is taken, raw material used therein or the intermediatefinished products, by products, wastes, or effluents thereof would-
(i) Cause Material impairments to the health of the personsengaged in or connected therewith, or
(ii) result in the pollution of general environment:

S 7A GENERAL DUTIES OF THE OCCUPIER
Ensure the healt,safety, and welfare of the workers
a. Maintanence of plant and system of work
b. Ensure safety and absence of risks to health of the workers- handling,storage and
transport of articles and substances.
c. Maintanence of all places of work- safe and risk free
d. Maintaining and monitoring such working environment- free from risk.

HEALTH, SAFETY and WELFARE OF THE WORKERS
Health(S.11 To 20)
S 11 CLEANLINESS:
a) Free from effluvia arising from drain or other nuisance In particular-
Removal of accumulation of dirt and refuse from the floors and
benches. Staircases, and passages
b) Cleaning of floor at least once in every week
c) Effective means of drainage shall be provided where the floor is liable
to be wet.
d) All inside walls and partitions, all ceiling or tops of rooms and all wall
sides, top of passages and stair cases shall - painted, or varnished once in every period of 5 yrs.
Painted with washable water paints- one coat
