During this Virtual Forum William Sauvé, MD, and Steven Szabo, MD, PhD, will discuss how the diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has changed with the release of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th Edition (DSM-5), how the gold-standard rating scale, the Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale (CAPS) has evolved, and the paradigm shifts that have occurred in the treatment of PTSD. Speakers will also review recent advances in understanding of the neurobiology of PTSD, and will discuss how the perceptions of PTSD have changed over the years in light of traumatic events affecting our society.
