Potential Interest/Contribution to TEWSPotential Interest/Contribution to TEWS

Development of advanced warning and alerting systems for first responders and the public in the event of a potential emergency or disaster.

Development of systems to inform the emergency services and the public during the course of such events.

Development and manufacture of equipment to support the above. (Much already exists and is in daily use already).

Training for local manufacture, installation, operation and support.

Paging based warning systems and equipment already exist in many countries, so no re-invention and low development risk and cost.

Desired Level of Cooperation

Willing to participate in: Programme to show that alerting First Responders and forewarning the public that a disaster will (or could) occur within seconds of an alarm signal being received from the Tsunami (or other disaster detection) organisation. This alarm can be raised within a small local area (i.e. for a flood, fire, chemical spill etc.) or a very large area such as for the Tsunami of 26/12/04.
