The Eternal Destiny Of Man• Man does not cease to exist when he dies.

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also”

(James 2:26).

“Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it”

(Ecclesiastes 12:7).

The Eternal Destiny Of Man• Man does not cease to exist when he dies. • Each person will be raised from the dead

and judged when Christ comes again on the last day.

“Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth -- those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done

evil, to the resurrection of condemnation” (John 5:28-29).



“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the

throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from

another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats” (Matthew 25:31-32).



“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things

done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).

the city was pure gold, like clear glass. The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious

stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth

sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve

gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like

transparent glass” (Revelation 21:16-21).

– Sin is the violation of God’s law (1 John 3:4). – Sin separates man from God (Isaiah 59:1-2). – Those who are not capable of sinning (ex.

Infants) will not be separated from God. – The guilt of sin is the only thing that will keep a

person out of heaven!

Who Will Go To Heaven?• Most people will not go to heaven. • Those who have no sin will go to heaven. • Those who receive forgiveness of sins will

go to heaven. – All who are capable of sinning have sinned

(Romans 3:23). – Christ offered himself as a sacrifice to take

away man’s sins (Hebrews 10:12-14). – Those who meet his terms for forgiveness of

sins will be saved.

Hell• The word “hell” in the New Testament

was used as a garbage dump where fires burned continually.

– It became a symbol of the place of eternal conscious punishment of the wicked.

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which

burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).

Who Will Go To Hell?• Those who do nothing will go to hell.

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire

prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did

not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me’”

(Matthew 25:41-43).

Who Will Go To Hell?• Those who do nothing will go to hell.

– Many people don’t believe in hell or don’t think about hell, so they do nothing to avoid going there.
