Winter Reminders
With the winter months upon us, here are a few reminders:
When school is cancelled or delayed start due to bad
weather, morning Mass will be cancelled.
If there is an early dismissal or school cancellation due to
bad weather, all evening meeting will be cancelled.
Please do not leave exterior doors of the church open
during the winter months. Thank you.
How about making a Cursillo weekend?
Cursillo or “short course in Christianity” is an uplifting and
educational experience. Cursillo was brought from Spain to the
United States in 1962. The weekend is facilitated by a team of
laypeople and clergy who deliver organized talks and
discussions. What the presenters add to the talks are the witness
of their own lives, their struggles and triumphs in Christ. The
weekend is full of laugher, prayer, great music, wonderful meals
and so much more. Our 2019 dates are: Men’s-March 21-24,
2019 and October 10-13, 2019. Women’s– May 2-5, 2019 and
November 14-17, 2019. All weekends will be held at the
Immaculate Conception Spiritual Renewal Center in Putnam,
CT. For additional information, please contact Sue Leighton:
508-278-3155 or [email protected], Joan Laracy:
774-239-2474, [email protected]
Pray the Rosary… Praying of the Rosary will continue
through the winter on Thursday
evenings at 6:15 PM in the Church. In
praying the Rosary, we include the petitions and intentions of
our parishioners, the ministries of our parish, the prayers of our
community and world. By praying the Rosary, we reach out and
offer spiritual support to our brothers and sisters who are in
need. The Rosary Ministry is a great way for parishioners of all
ages to have an active part in our Church community. Please join
US!
Baptismal Congratulations
We congratulate
Maggie Marianne Kennedy
and
Sean Michael Kennedy
Who were baptized last weekend in the Lord and in the faith
life of the Church. We welcome them and pledge, through our
example and support, growth in God. May the Lord bless them
and their parents as they begin their journey to know and love
the Lord!
The Epiphany of the Lord
Today’s feast, Epiphany, means “manifestation” or “to shine forth.” The
Gospel tells the story of the Magi (the wise men from the East) following a
star to find the “newborn king of the Jews.” On this feast we celebrate the
way Jesus was first revealed to people beyond Israel. Family Faith on the Go
