The consulting firm provides management advice on decisions relating to strategy, operations, mergers and acquisitions, technology and organization. Bain & Company, whose key business objective is making their clients more valuable, turned to Siteworx to add significance to their own website. Offering expertise in industries ranging from media to industrial machinery, Bain & Company promotes a team mentality over a view of singular experts. However, the firm’s website did not effectively convey this cohesive message. With its diverse group of high-level talent and wide portfolio of business strategy capabilities, Bain & Company needed a web platform that would unify the brand and serve as a key component of its overall business strategy. Bain & Company also needed to develop a strong online identity, which would provide a company-wide rallyingpoint and also help differentiate Bain & Company from its competition. Siteworx helped to align the company around the purpose of the website in relation to Bain & Company’s overall strategy and the brand as a whole. The new Bain.com serves as a complement to Bain & Company’s existing offline business-to-business activities. Siteworx conducted research and developed a user-centric strategy for the redesign, then architected a site map and wireframes, conducted usability testing and assisted with copywriting. Visual design deliverables included mood boards and color concepts, color composites and a web style guide. In the development phase, Siteworx completed front-end development, system architecture and technical design, infrastructure planning, software installation, WCM development and integration, and implementation of Microsoft’s FAST Enterprise Search Solution.

Through the website redesign, Bain & Company looked for capabilities that would allow each present, and future, office location to have its own online presence that functioned within the overall brand family. The site was designed to be simple to use and to provide built-in flexibility for growth.

Results:The end result is an engaging website that effectively communicates Bain & Company’s value proposition to potential clients while solidifying its corporate identity for Bain consultants and alumni worldwide. By deploying a robust WCM solution, Bain & Company can cost-effectively maintain its global web presence—with offices in 27 countries—while providing each of its offices the ability to retain a distinctive visual presence. Whereas Bain & Company’s previous site was viewed as tangential to its marketing and selling processes, the new site performs as a powerful demand generation platform and has contributed to an exponential increase in inbound leads.
