1. Brief IntroductionThe Field Hand Held Communicator of electromagnetic flowmeter is

employed to set parameters and watch primary variables. The user’s guide introduces you how to use the Field Hand Held Communicator to set and display Electromagnetic Flowmeter’s parameters.

2. Field ConnectionThe Field Hand Held Communicator should be connected with

Electromagnetic Flowmeter shown as the Fig2.1:

1).The two signal line of the Field Hand Held Communicator should be connected in parallel with Electromagnetic Flowmeter’s IGND and Iout without polarity.

2).The load resistance of current circuit should be more than 200Ωand less than 500Ω.

3).The Field Hand Held Communicator couldn’t be connected in series with the current.

3. Definition of Key

4. Power On and Off On the power-off state, The Field Hand Held Communicator can be

turned on by pressing key five seconds later or more, and display

“MAG Field Hand Held Unit” and menu on the LCD shown as Fig 4.1: AM

key or cursor key , and then pressing key to enter next

menu shown as Fig 4.3. Though this menu we could select primary variables displaying or parameter setting to operate.

Fig4.3 Main Menu If you don’t input key-words or input wrong key-words, it could only

display primary variables and parameters of electromagnetic flowmeter. you couldn’t modify and set parameters of electromagnetic fowmeter.

When Field Hand Held Communicator is on, pressing the key

on more than five seconds, The Field Hand Held Communicator will be turned off automatically.

If there isn’t any key operation in three minute, The Field Hand Held Communicator will also be turned off automatically.

5. Watch the Primary Variables

Pressing figure key or pressing key to move light stick

to “1. Flowmeter Measure”, and then pressing key , you could

enter next menu and watch primary variables shown as Fig5.1:

this screen.The item PV means flow rate value, item AO means output current value, and item PV% means percentage of current

output. Pressing key you could be back to upper menu.

6. Parameters setting

Pressing figurer key or pressing key 、 to move the

light stick to “2. setting meter parameter” ,and then pressing key

and you could enter parameter setting menu shown as Fig6.1:

Fig 6.1 Parameter Setting Menu In this menu, you could set parameters of the Electromagnetic

Flowmeter, and pressing key back to upper menu shown as Fig

4.2.

6.1 PV Unit

Pressing key 、 to move the light stick to “PV

Unit”(shown in Fig . 6.1) and press key to enter flow unit setting

menu ,select flow rate unit and press key to begin setting

parameter .

Communicator could return to the upper menu; and if the parameter is set unsuccessfully, and there will be “ERROR” on the menu.

On the parameter setting menu (figure 6.1) , pressing figure key

or pressing key 、 to move the light stike to item “Flow

Range”, and pressing key to enter flow range setting menu

shown as Fig 6.4.

In this menu, you could input parameter of flow range though

figure key and cursor key , and press key one time to set.

Screen will display hint “Enter” and “Cancel” to confirm whether this

operation is carried out. If press key one more time. Field Hand

Held Communicator begins to communicate parameter to

Electromagnetic Flowmeter. If you want to cancel, press key to

exit.If there isn’t any operation in five seconds, the input value is invalid ,

and Field Hand Held Communicator will return the upper menu.

Figure 6.5 Measurement Setting Menu If the parameter is set successfully, and Field Hand Held

Communicator would return to the upper level of menu; if the parameter is set unsuccessfully and there will be “ERROR” on the menu. After 5 seconds, you should enter "Flow Range" menu to check the parameter of electromagnetic flowmeter whether is set correctly.

6.3 FLOW RSPNS SettingSetting steps and method of the FLOW RSPNS is the same as

PV Unit.6.4 FLOW CUT OFF Setting

Setting steps and method of the FLOW CUT OFF is the same as FLOW RANGE.6.5 FREQUEN MAX Setting

Setting steps and method is the same as the FLOW RANGE.6.6 ALARM OVER L Setting

Setting steps and method of the ALARM OVER L is the same as PV Unit.6.7 ALARM VALUE Setting

Setting steps and method is the same as the FLOW RANGE.

7.Attention

1). After the parameter of electromagnetic flowmeter is set, you must return to the setting item a moment ago, and check the parameter is set correctly. The parameter of electromagnetic flowmeter is needed several seconds to change. If you enter this operation item many times, and display incorrect parameter, then the setting parameter is invalid. The parameter needs to be set again, or inspects whether there are other reasons.

2).After power-up, if Field Hand Held Communicator appears the mistake information, you should check the device wiring with electromagnetic flowmeter and parameters of electromagnetic flowmeter whether are set correctly.

3).The communication parameter of electromagnetic flowmeter should be set as follow:the communication mode it is 2, the communication address is not 0, and the value of baud rate is 4800. If the communication mode, address and the baud rate setting are not

set correctly, the Field Hand Held Communicator will not be able to set the parameter and display primary variables.

4).If there is any operation in 3 minutes; the device will turn off automatically.

5).If the Field Hand Held Communicator couldn’t modify the parameter; you should confirm whether the password of the device is set correctly.

6).If you do not input any figure, and press key "→"to set the parameter, the value to be set to electromagnetic flowmeter is zero.

7).If the device is unable to turn on, you should open the device rear cap, and push”reset” button. Moreover, when the battery voltage of the device is lower than 5V, you should need to replace the new battery. Before operation of the first time, you should push “reset” button.
