BACKGROUND

Radio Controlled(R/C) Car is one of the best toy to have, many children want to have it. Not only children, but adult also have interest in this toy, as a hobby or only for fun. Radio Controlled(R/C) Car usually use for only a toy, but beside that, there are many people use it as a hoby.

An electric battery is a device consisting of one or more ElectroChemical Cells that convert stored Chemical Energy into electrical energy. Each battery consists of a negative electrode material, a positive electrode material, an electrolyte that allows ions to move between the electrodes, and terminals that allow current to flow out of the battery to perform work.

Radio Controlled(R/C) Car : is a self-powered model car that can be controlled from a distance using a specialized transmitter.

Battery : is a device consisting of one or more electrochemical cells that convert stored chemical energy into electrical energy.

Stopwatch : is a device that used to count the time.

MATERIALS-Radio Controlled(R/C) Car- Stopwatch-Different Battery Types

PROCEDURE

1. Prepare the Radio Controlled(R/C) Car, Different battery types, and Stopwatch.

2. Run the Radio Controlled(R/C) Car on the track.

3. Count the time it takes to finish the track.

4. Calculate the speed of each battery type.

5. Do the same procedure on each battery type.

Data will be observed on each battery types and will be writen in a table shown below.

The speed differences caused by the different quality and energy component of each battery affected the dynamo performance that causes different speed.

As the example Alkaline battery use the reaction

between zinc and manganese dioxide (Zn/MnO2) and Mercury battery use the reaction between Mercuric Oxide and Zinc Electrodes in an Alkaline Electrolyte, these different battery components that makes the speed differences between Alkaline and Mercury battery.

Conclussions :

Between different battery types that tested on the research, the Alkaline type is the most type that affect the result that makes the Radio Controlled(R?C) Car speed faster between the other types.

Alkaline battery is the most expensive and ABC is the cheapest in price, that means the price of the battery affected the quality of the battery that will affect the Radio Controlled(R/C) car speed.

Suggestions :The suggestions for the readers from this research are

The readers can use the Alkaline battery for the Radio Controlled(R/C) Car for the best speed.

Author also expect the reader of this to develop this research to higher level such as measure the battery durably while in use, the battery quality, and the battery hot level with more battery types include.
