CHRISTMAS RAFFLE 2011
The human cost of the conflict in Libya has been immense. None more so
than for the children caught up in the midst of all this bloodshed.
St Edward’s College wants to do its part to help out, following in the steps of the Government
of Malta and various other International Organizations, such as the International Red Cross and
Médecins Sans Frontières who transported a number of injured Libyans for hospital treatment
in Malta and Tunisia.
Recently a catamaran from Malta equipped with medical equipment as well as medical staff
managed to get a number of injured, trapped in Tripoli, home to Benghazi. Please follow link
for similar episode
We have decided to do our small part too by donating the proceeds from this year’s Christmas
raffles to Libya’s injured children. Please be generous and help us in our aid for innocent vic-
tims. We have a good contact at School that will ensure that the funds reach the right destina-
tion.
We desperately need some good prizes to help us sell as many tickets as possible.
Please send any prizes you wish to donate to:

Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Goofy visit KG1 Students
Last Friday, the KG1 children were entertained for almost 3 hours by Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. As part
of their current topic about shapes and colours, the 3 animators sung songs and played games with the chil-
dren as a way of reviewing what they have been learning. There was lots of fun and laughter and the chil-
dren joined in with confidence. Mid-morning the children had a break and stepped out on the lawn to have
a picnic before continuing the fun.

KG 2 visit San Anton Gardens
Last Friday the KG2 children went on their eagerly awaited outing to San Anton Gardens and the Presi-
dent’s Kitchen Garden. First they walked around San Anton Gardens, looking at the swans and other water
birds. They then visited the President’s Kitchen Garden and enjoyed seeing a variety of animals, including
donkeys and goats. This was followed by playtime on the equipment before crossing back to San Anton
Gardens for a picnic. Soon after, they boarded the bus back to college. Although it was a tiring morning, all
the children agreed that it had been fun!
