MODERATE SEDATIOWANAL GESIA: COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT MODULE B J ~ Rosemari C. Moss 2001. 62pp $50 paperback
his book is a tool for evaluat- ing the basic knowledge need- T ed to provide conscious seda-
tion in various settings and prac- tices. It also provides a great way to earn contact hours via inde- pendent study. Overall, the book is very well-organized, easy to read, and easy to handle. It fits in even the smallest bag for on-the- go studying and reference. The book can be navigated easily and is understandable and well-struc- tured. Even without illustrations, the charts and glossary are helpful tools for acquiring basic knowl- edge about conscious sedation.
are easy to comprehend, precise, and to the point. This is the per- fect study guide for all medical professionals in settings and prac- tices in which conscious sedation is used and can be helpful to those who simply wish to further their knowledge about this topic. The test questions at the end of the book are easy to understand and serve as a self-evaluation. The test also can be used to earn contact hours. The number of contact hours available justify the cost of the module. I love this book and would recommend it to those seeking to educate themselves or staff members about conscious sedation.

The book is well-organized and easy to follow. The fact that this book assumes a rather high level of mathematical ability makes it usehl only to those studying theory. The average pro- fessional would have little interest in this book, with the exception of the final chapters on regulations, antitrust, and the economic evalu- ation of health care, which could be of interest to administrators.
