The Fraternal Order of Eagles, an international nonprofit organization, unites fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice and equality, to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills, and by promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope.

The time for renewing Annual Dues is upon us! The Grand Aerie will be sending out reminders starting March 30, and again on April 29, and finally on May 30. The sooner you pay your dues the fewer dues reminders you will receive and the less the Aerie will pay in postage. Remember! Your annual dues are due by May 31, 2020.

Note: If you joined after June 2019, and were given your first year free, you will NOT owe the full dues for the year. The Social Room hostesses will have a list in the Social room

with corrected dues for those members. If you have any questions feel free to contact the Aerie Secretary at [email protected].

We are always looking for members to get involved and cook some meals for your favorite charity, either local or one of our International Charities.

We, frequently, are scrambling around at the end of each month trying to get folks to volunteer.

If you are interested, want more information or are willing to pick up some nights (like one night every couple of months or even a one-time thing), please let the Trustees know. We will help you get things going and can guide you along the way. It really is a pretty painless process and it only involves a few hours for an event like a Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday evening dinner. It does not have to be fancy.

We would TRULY appreciate your help. Drop a note in the comment box or get ahold of a Trustee.

FROM OUR WORTHY PRESIDENT – PETE GARDNER Hello Aerie,

Let's see… A full schedule ahead; the God Flag and Country Oratory Competition is just around the corner, E-board in Savannah, elections, State E-board here in St. Marys, SE Regional Conference, and all the meals and activities in between.

You have kept me and YOUR EAGLES busy. Keep doing it.... this is fun!!!!

I keep seeing more members at meetings; Aerie, Auxiliary, and even Trustees meetings have increased attendance. This really shows that YOU are getting more involved in OUR Aerie. Thank you, it means so much to see membership and involvement increase. Speaking of membership, we have met our net gain and continue to push forward, thank you to Adrin for leading the membership committee this year.

Volunteers, volunteers, volunteers... Everyone who lends a hand or leads an event, I thank you! I can't say it enough. Without each of you we wouldn't be so strong. Remember, just ask, any officer should be able to point you to who is running an event and help you help us. Always, what you get out of the Aerie is what you put into it.

OFFICERS: Nominations and elections for both Local and State officer positions will be happening in the next few months.

Local: Put in your paperwork/request - just an envelope in the Secretaries’ door (to the nominating committee, with your request) will work.

State: If you are interested, you will need to fill out the form and submit it to any State Officer. We will ensure it goes to the nominating committee.

Volunteer where you can! To stay informed…

Check Facebook https://www.facebook.com/foe4379/ , check websites for the Grand Aerie: www.foe.com, Georgia: www.georgiafoe.org and our own #4379 www.foe4379.com

Thank you, See you at the Aerie, Pete

Our calendar has filled up fast for the last few months of the year. Please be sure to take a look at the Facebook site for the Aerie’s upcoming events.

It is almost time to vote for our new Auxiliary officers. If you are considering running for an office, (Local or State) there will be forms available for you to fill out soon at the Aerie.

Thank you to everyone for all that you do. You are an essential team member within the Aerie and your time and dedication is what keeps us all going strong.

See you all around,

Cheryl

EAGLE RIDERS – PATRICIA PERRINE, PRESIDENT Hi Everyone,

Bike Week starts March 6th in Daytona Beach, FL. You would think since Daytona is a couple of hours away, it wouldn't impact our community, but it does. Riders make stops in Kingsland and

make detours to St. Marys on their way to and from Bike Week. Expect more motorcycles on the highways until March 15th and be diligent about "Look Twice to Save a Life".

Our Annual Benefit Poker Run will be on Saturday, August 22nd this year. We are starting to make plans so if you have any ideas for us, or would like to help out, give me a call, tell me about it when you see me at the Aerie or come to one of our meetings.

Our next meeting will be at Noonish on Sunday, March 1st.

Ride Safe, Patricia 912-409-7294

On 2/3, the Eagle Riders donated $500 to the Building Fund. Much thanks.

The Building Fund is an account we use to maintain, repair, and upgrade our Aerie.

TRUSTEES’ CORNER – CHAIR, JAIME GALAVIZ

REMEMBER - tabs will have to be paid in full on March 1. If you have a tab open on that day and come in for a drink, you will be expected to pay it off first.

Cleanup is on Saturdays each weekend. If there are no functions for us to interfere with, we’ll have tasks to do. Its your Aerie, come on out and lend a hand. Ladies are welcome to participate.

(repeated from February’s newsletter, intentionally) The Trustees have been very patient trying to get the ‘tab’ situation under control but have been unsuccessful. We feel it is being treated like a “revolving charge account” and are finding it more and more difficult to tell who has paid on time and who hasn’t.

To that end, we have decided to stop the MONTHLY tab system completely as of March 1st.

ALL tabs must be paid in full by that day. On March 1st we will go to a daily tab system. The hostess will have a card scanning system similar to the credit card machine. If you don’t want to pay cash for each drink, they will scan your credit/debit card to allow you to pay when you leave. At the end of the day, all tabs not closed, will be charged out to the card they were started with. This is similar to other establishments all over town and elsewhere in the country so we don’t think it should be new to members. Now is a good time to start paying off your tab and get used to the new system. Tabs that are not paid on March 1st must be paid in full before the hostess will serve you.

We will all enjoy the benefit of having that $1200-1400.00 we carry month-to-month in our account to do more for you around the Aerie.

If you have ANY questions or concerns about this new policy, please attend the Trustees meetings on Tuesdays at 5 pm, or drop a comment card in the box with your name and phone number so we can contact you to answer your questions.

GEORGIA STATE WORTHY PRESIDENT – RON REIN

The last E-board of the year will be in Richmond Hill just South of Savannah. It’s not a long trip and there’s no need to stay the night if you don’t want to. But if you would like to, most stay at the Quality Inn at the Richmond Hill exit, at Rt 17. The meetings are a short drive away.

I have created a Go Fund Me site for our Past State and Aerie President, Ed Caudill, to help with his travel expenses as he starts his cancer treatments in Jacksonville. He will be traveling 5 days a week

and will need some help.

On https://www.gofundme.com/, you can search for: People helping People Find the Cure

Or, here’s a link to the page: Go Fund Me page for Ed Caudill - People helping People Find the Cure

If this link doesn’t work for you, or you can’t locate the page, please let me know and I’ll send you a link through messenger or text.
