Local schools observe, learn during Fire Prevention Week

COLORADO COUNTY COURTHOUSE REPORT

On Oct. 6, Garwood School first graders were treated to a fire prevention program by Mr.Bill Hefner III, sponsored by the Farm Bureau. Mr. Hefner reminded students about fire safety and prevention measures. He presented each student with Sparky's Fire Safety Coloring book and a sucker.

Garwood; investigated by DPS Trooper R. Korenek. Defendant pled guilty; fined $500 and court costs; one year deferred adjudication.

•Amy and Cathy Fearing returned to Eagle Lake early Sunday afternoon from a trip to Phoenix.

Their uncle, Tom Fearing, was buried there Friday morning.

The girls rode to Arizona with their aunt and uncle, Michelle and Leo von Poppel of Pattison.

Tom was their father's brother who had previously lived in Philadel- phia.
