  • Modern Engineering needs a strong base where the emerging tools and techniques for a smarter world can be paved upon, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities does the same. The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities is continuing from the date of its inception with a mission of imparting teaching and promoting implementation of practical aspects of Applied Sciences and Humanities to build a solid foundation as part of the Engineering Education The important objective of the Department is to prepare and train the first year B. Tech students in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Communication skills with an applied approach. The present newsletter is just a mirror the success story of our department. It reflects upon the persistent and committed efforts made by faculty, staff and students for taking the institution one step ahead. YES PIET..

  • Orientation Programme “To have a safe flight good take off is must” “UDAAN” (Orientation programme for B.Tech Freshmen): The orientation for B.tech freshmen was a 2-Day event organized by Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities on 3rd and 4th August 2017. The theme of the event was “Unity in Diversity”. The first day centered on the introduction to the college to the freshmen and the essence of Department of ASH for paving a great base for Engineering.

    The second day started with the career counseling and motivational lecture session by Mr. Surya Narain Bahadur, a renowned Career Counselor. The students were trained for a corporate level presentation skills, Group Discussion skills and oratory.

  • Samvad samaroh/ parents orientation programme

    The interaction of parents and teachers is must because these two are key player of a student life and player of a student life and player pivotal role in his/her development. P.I.E.T held samvad samaroh on 12th august parents were welcomed by the staff. The interaction Session with parents includes how to deal with their children’s psychology and what role they can play in their life and other useful ideas. Parents were honored with greeting cards and gifts.

  • TALENT HUNT 2k17 The Talent Hunt 2k17 was organized on 5th Sept, Teacher’s day. The main objective of this programme was to articulate students about the importance of extra-curricular activities and insure the overall development of our students. The following competitions were also organized like Speech competition, Singing competition, Dancing competition, Anchor hunt The students were judged on various parameters and awarded accordingly.

  • Blood Donation camp: On 5th September the lion club held blood donation camp inside the PIET campus. The management and medical team of rotoract team were perfect in their job and they look care of every minute detail during blood donation the representation from Rotary club were Haber gusted by seeing the no. of donors were in no. students were provided refreshment to balance their health level so that later they would not get topple.

  • CARBUNCLE 2K17 “Only studies no fun, make a person dull” Jollity, merriment, zeal and electrifying parties are basic privilege of students, isn’t? To embrace all fresher’s with fireworks PIET held fresher’s party “Carbuncle 2k17” on 28th and 29th of September inside the campus. Well our students are no less celebs as they staged in a ramp walk which was hot and sophisticated. There were May jaw dropping performances by students in Dancing, singing, dumb Charades, declamation. Their performance was replied of what nucleus they are made cup from. Here comes another evening, the “star night “ To attend a live concert of a famous singer in an ecstatic way to get high and abscond from materiality and get stray in the reclaim of euphony Akhil, the famous singer was invited in carbuncle to perform live and audience were just living off the edge at the that moment

  • Every year we select the class representatives from each sections. The objective of the event was to develop the leadership traits among our students. For the selection process we had a few judging criteria like Good performance in Academics, Decent behavior and Discipline, Above average communication skills and good reasoning and logic development skills. The event was convened by Ms. Sukrati Sharma and was judged by Ms. Rekha Mahajan.

  • INDUSTRIAL VISIT : To impart students the exposure of industrial processes, the students of first year were taken to Yakult Manufacturing plant, Rai (Sonepat). The students were taken in small groups in the month of April, 2018. The processing and corporate branch managers also gave their presentation which helped to understand the complete processes of a Multi-National firm.

  • TALKATHON 2K19

    Under the banner of ICT Academy which holds the Nation-wide speech competition. As per the guidelines, we organized the screening of the speech competition in which students from all the branches competed. The judges for the event were Ms. Rekha Mahajan, Mr. Jagmohan Malhotra and Dr. Nisha Dahiya. The top 10 students from the event were groomed for the further video audition round by the same jury panel.

  • Applied Science Department conducted a unique Talent Hunt programme which commenced under the banner „The Prodigy of Applied Science Dept‟.

    The objective of the contest was to hone the budding engineers for their placement requirements well in advance. The contest was convened by Ms. Rekha Mahajan under the guidance of Dr. Vinay Khatri, HOD, Applied Sciences, as a Mock Practice to meet the requirements of the corporate world.

    It was especially formulated to ensure multi-pronged input among the students through a mock interactive drill. The resulting synergy led to matchless exposure of the students for a bright tomorrow. Hence all the students from ASH department contested for the much coveted Title „The Best Prodigy of ASH‟ with lot of enthusiasm and fervor.

  • THANKS GIVING CEREMONY: The session ended with the thanks giving ceremony that was presented by the students to thank their teachers. The teachers of the Department of ASH motivated and blessed the students for their future endeavors.
