The DROPBOX

in Falcon Online

Learners use the Dropbox tool to upload and submit homework assignments to dropbox folders in Falcon Online, (eliminating the need to mail, fax, or email their work to instructors).

Instructors use the Dropbox tool to see users’ submission times, download dropbox folders to their computer, view submissions on the View Feedback page, (sometimes) associate dropbox folders to rubrics and competencies, and return submissions with grades and feedback.

What is the DROPBOX?

Select the Dropbox link in the Navbar to open the page.

The Dropbox is where you ‘turn in’ your homework by uploading file(s) into the appropriate Dropbox folder.DROPBOX

This is where you access a specific drop box assignment. The link will be active if it is open. Note the date. It will either show as OPEN or CLOSED with a (bold) date and time (end bold).

DROPBOX FOLDERS

Click on the Dropbox assignment, “Worksheet One – Adopting a Creator Mindset” to open it up. Note the additional directions or worksheet underneath.

It is important for you to check your syllabus and the actual Drop Box to ensure you submit your work when it is due. The date and time are a deadline, not the time you are required to submit. It is recommended that you post your work at least eight hours prior to the deadline when possible to account for any technical issues or questions.

DROPBOX FOLDER COLUMNS ENLARGED

Once your instructor has graded your work, your score will appear here.

You can verify that your submission actually posted when a (number) #1 appears in this column. It will be a link that you can click on to check.

If your instructor has provided specific feedback on this assignment, a link will appear here for you to read that feedback. Always check for attachments with even more feedback as well.

The exact time and date are ‘time stamped’ on your submitted paper(s), and it’s notated if it’s late submission.

IMPORTANT! Your dropbox folder is open, but the dropdown arrow means your directions are hidden! Click “> Show Folder Information” to open the directions.

Now your dropbox folder directions are open.If you select it a second time it closes. Please keep theses open and available at all times.

After you let go, you should see your file’s name in the upload area, “Murray_CREATOR MINDSET.rtf with the file size (62.74 KB)”.

The file’s name is followed by an “X”. If you want to delete that file, select the “X”.

To continue with this upload click the “Add” button.

You have the option to add comments.

The Submit Files page opens when you select the “Add” button. You can see your file, and you have the option to “Remove” it if you want to upload a new file.

Formerly “Falconmail”, now “email”

In your email, open the “Dropbox submission receipt”.

“This email is to confirm that Worksheet One – Adopting a Creator Mindset has received your file submission”

Here is your Dropbox confirmation. There is no need to print this email, but don’t delete it – this is your documentation that your work was submitted should there be any question from your instructor or any other technical issues.

To keep it available and easy to access, click on “Folders” and select, “New”. Create a new folder and name it something meaningful, like, “Homework_Submissions”. Then drag the email directly into your folder.

When I select the folder I see the email safe inside.

Select the “View” link to read the feedback.

Returning to the Dropbox Folders, notice there is now a homework Score which shows a 10 out of 10 (100%) grade, and Feedback to View.

The top envelop icon means the file has not been retrieved by your instructor.

The bottom envelop icon file has been retrieved. (It may not have been read or graded.)

The View Feedback page shows the Score of 10 out of 10 (100%).

And here is the “DropboxFeedback” from the Instructor.
