Riverside DREAM Monthly Snapshot September 2012 Program Happenings and Highlights

• Riverside DREAM kicked off another great semester of mentoring and welcomed co-chairs Spencer Fitzgerald and Kaitlyn Lapan.

• The program is currently working on recruiting new mentors and kids. • Three Riverside mentors joined other mentors from around the state for DREAMstock,

the DREAM office’s annual mentor training event. Participants Mentees Mentors Total: 37 Total: 30

Friday Programming with Children

• Mentors picked up their mentees at Riverside and headed to Oakledge park for a day of barbecuing and games.

• Poor weather stopped the mentors from taking the kids for a hike at Mt. Philo and instead they played games at the Burlington Waterfront.

• Kids and mentors went apple crazy at Shelburne Orchards! • The Riverside program mixed fun with functional by splitting the kids up to do Zumba

and discuss the rules and expectations for this year of DREAM mentoring
