United States. Segregation based on
race/color is legal after Plessy v. Ferguson.

The Japanese The Japanese have felt
the sting of oppression by the American government.
During WWII they were imprisoned in concentration camps for fear they might be spies for the Japanese Empire.

Chinese Used by big business
to help expand the industrial might of the United States, because they were cheap labor.
Cast aside when the job was finished.
Only immigrant group not permitted admittance to the US by the federal government.
Irish Exploited for their labor this group was treated as
sub-human by many other groups of Americans. Also feared because of their ardent belief in
Catholicism.
Hispanics The modern day
scapegoat for many of the problems of America.
Many have and will continue to be asked to come to America
Questions Each of these groups have been denied
their rights in a variety of ways from time to time. Each of these groups have now and are continuing to gain equality in the United States.
