Theme for 2020: Disciples of Jesus making Disciples for Jesus.
Our Mission
We are disciples of Christ making the love of God known through our
witness and service in all we think, say and do

ORDER OF THE LITURGY
Opening Hymn: 243, When All Thy Mercies (Joseph Addison)
1. When all your mercies, O my God,
my rising soul surveys,
transported with the view, I'm lost
in wonder, love, and praise.
2. Unnumbered comforts to my soul
your tender care bestowed,
before my infant heart conceived
from whom those comforts flowed.
3. When in the slippery paths of youth
With heedless steps I ran,
Thine arm unseen conveyed me safe,
And led me up to man.
4. Ten thousand thousand precious gifts
my daily thanks employ;
and not the least a cheerful heart
which tastes those gifts with joy.
5. Through ev'ry period of my life
your goodness I'll pursue;
and after death, in distant worlds,
the glorious theme renew.
6 .Through all eternity to you
a joyful song I'll raise;
for O, eternity's too short
to utter all your praise.
THE GREETING
Opening Sentence
V. Blessed be God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Alleluia! Alleluia!
R. And blessed be His Kingdom, now and forever. Amen. Alleluia! Alleluia!
OPENING PRAYER
Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets
are hid: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that
we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your Holy Name, through Christ our
Lord. Amen.
Gloria
Glory to God in the highest,
3
and peace to His people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King,
almighty God and Father,
we worship you, we give you thanks,
we praise you for your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the
Father, Lord God, Lamb of God,
you take away the sin of the world:
have mercy on us;
you are seated at the right hand of
the Father: receive our prayer.
For you alone are the Holy One;
you alone are the Lord:
you alone are the Most High,
Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Collect: O God, because without you we are not able to please you, mercifully grant
that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our
Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
FIRST READING: Genesis 50: 15-21 (Pamula Ridley)
PSALM 103: 8-13
8 The LORD is full of compassion and mercy, *
slow to anger and of great kindness.
9 He will not always accuse us, *
nor will he keep his anger for ever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, *
nor rewarded us according to our wickedness.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, *
so is his mercy great upon those who fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, *
so far has he removed our sins from us.
13 As a father cares for his children, *
so does the LORD care for those who fear him.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning is now and shall be forever. Amen.
SECOND READING: Romans 14: 1-12 (Maxie Montieth)

HYMN OF RESPONSE Mercy Rewrote My Life (Jimmy Swaggart)
1.For years I traveled a road all wrong
My heart had lost every joy, oh every song
Till grace placed me right where I belong
When mercy rewrote my life
Mercy rewrote my life
Mercy rewrote my life
I could have fallen my soul cast down
But mercy rewrote my life
2. My mistakes God turned into miracles
Every tears was turned into joy
My sins, forgiven, a new name oh was written
When mercy rewrote my life
I could have fallen my soul cast down
But mercy rewrote my life
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE (Margaret Crooks)
Leader: Lord, we pray that your church may be welcoming and open. Let us draw others to
you by our love and understanding. May we be a support to the weak in faith, a strength to
the wavering, and uplift the fallen. Let us not be judgmental, and yet let us stand firm in our
love for you and for your will. Teach us to be forgiving towards others as we seek
forgiveness from you. We pray for outreach of your church, for its mission to seek out the
lost and recover the fallen. We pray for the Jamaica Church Missionary Society and for all
Church Army officers and lay evangelists. Lord, as you gave your life for us,
All: help us to give our lives to you.
Leader: We pray for the banks and commerce of our world. We pray for countries and
peoples that are deeply in debt. We pray for justice and fair dealing in trade. We remember
those who have had homes or lands repossessed, all who have become bankrupt, all who have
lost the little that they had especially because of this global pandemic. Lord, as you gave your
life for us,
All: help us to give our lives to you.
Leader: We give thanks for what you have given to us. We pray that what we have may be
neither hoarded nor squandered, that we may give to the relief of the needy and to the
building up of our world. We give thanks for all who have been generous to us, and pray that
our homes may be places of grace and generosity. Lord, as you gave our life for us,
All: help us to give our lives to you.
Leader: We pray for those whose lives are diminished by greed and selfishness, for all who
are afraid to venture or to risk. We remember those afraid to commit themselves, all who
have been hurt in love or betrayed by loved ones. We pray for all whose relationships have
broken down. We remember before you all who are in trouble or in need. We pray for those
in sickness, in particular... Lord, as you gave your life for us,
All: Help us to give lives to you.
Leader: We give thanks for all who in their generosity have given their lives in the service of
others. We pray that as they gave their love and their life, you will give them love and life
5
eternal. We pray especially for… May we, with them, share in your love and in life
everlasting. Lord, as you gave your life for us,
All: Help us to give our lives to you.
Silence for individual prayer
All: Lord, you opened your arms for us on the cross, you welcome us into your
kingdom: may your saving power be known among us, and lead us into the ways of
peace, Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit in
everlasting love. Amen
ACT OF PENITENCE
PRESIDENT: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we
confess our sins, God is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins, and cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
A period of silence shall be kept.
PRESIDENT: Let us therefore confess our sins.
ALL: Most Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word,
and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved
you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves; we have not
loved ourselves as we ought. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of
your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us that we may delight in your
will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.
THE ABSOLUTION
PRESIDENT: Almighty God, have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your
sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and keep you in life eternal; through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.
PRESIDENT:
If you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something
against you.
ALL
Leave your gift there before the altar and go; first he reconciled to your brother, and
then come and offer your gift.
PRESIDENT: The peace of the Lord be always with you.
ALL: And also with you.
Offertory Hymn: When The Passing World Is Done (Meter 777777)
1 When this passing world is done,
when has sunk yon glaring sun,
when we stand with Christ on high
looking o'er life's history,
then, Lord, shall I fully know,
not till then, how much I owe.
6
2 When I hear the wicked call
on the rocks and hills to fall,
when I see them start and shrink
on the fiery deluge brink,
then, Lord, shall I fully know,
not till then, how much I owe.
3 When I stand before the throne,
dressed in beauty not my own,
when I see thee as thou art,
love thee with unsinning heart,
then, Lord, shall I fully know,
not till then, how much I owe.
4 When the praise of heav'n I hear,
loud as thunders to the ear,
loud as many waters' noise,
sweet as harp's melodious voice,
then, Lord, shall I fully know,
not till then, how much I owe.
5 Chosen not for good in me,
wakened up from wrath to flee,
hidden in the Savior's side,
by the Spirit sanctified,
teach me, Lord, on earth to show,
by my love, how much I owe.
THE PRESENTATION OF THE OFFERINGS:
Father, we offer you these gifts which you have given us; this bread, this wine, this
money. With them we offer ourselves, our lives, and our work, to become through your
Holy Spirit a reasonable, holy, and lively sacrifice. As this bread and wine become the
Body and Blood of Christ, so may we and all your people become channels of your love;
through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER
President: The Lord be with you.
All: And also with you.
President: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them up to the Lord.
President: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
All: It is right to give God thanks and praise.
PRESIDENT: It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give you
thanks, Father almighty, everlasting God: … Therefore, we praise you, joining our voices
with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven, who forever sing this hymn
7
to proclaim the glory of your Name:
ALL
Holy, holy, holy Lord,
God of power and might;
heaven and earth are full of your glory,
Hosanna in the highest!
Blessed is He who comes
in the name of the Lord,
Hosanna in the Highest!
Form E
PRESIDENT
Sovereign Lord and Father,
To you be glory and praise for ever.
In your boundless wisdom
you brought creation into being;
In your great love you fashioned
us in your image;
In your tender compassion
you sent your Son. Jesus Christ, our Saviour,
to share our human nature;
in the power of the Holy Spirit,
He overcame the power of sin and death
and brought your people to new birth
as first fruits of your new creation.
On the night that He was betrayed
He took bread,
and when He had given thanks to you.
He broke it and gave it to his disciples
and said: “Take this, and eat it:
This is my Body which is given For you.
Do this for the remembrance of me.”
And after supper
He took the cup of wine:
and when He had given thanks,
He gave it to them and said:
“Drink this, all of you:
This is my Blood of the New Covenant,
which is shed for you and for many
for the forgiveness of sins.
Whenever you drink it,
do this for the remembrance of me.”
PRESIDENT
Therefore. Father, according to the command of your dearly beloved Son
8
ALL
We remember His death
We proclaim His resurrection
We await His coming in glory
PRESIDENT
And we offer you. Father,
our sacrifice of thanks and praise.
Send your Holy Spirit on these gifts of
bread and wine that they may become
the Body and Blood of your Son,
Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer.
As we partake of this holy food of new
and unending life, may your Holy Spirit
establish us as a royal priesthood
with the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. N-
and all your sons and daughters who share
in your eternal inheritance;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
With Him and in Him and through Him,
by the power of the Holy Spirit,
we worship you, Father Almighty,
with all who stand before you
in earth and heaven,
in songs of everlasting praise:
ALL: Blessing and honour and glory and power
be yours for ever and ever. Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER
President: As our Saviour has taught us so we pray…
THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD:
PRESIDENT: We break this bread to share in the body of Christ.
ALL: Though we are many, we are one body, because we all share in one
bread.

PRESIDENT: The Gifts of God for the people of God
ALL: Our souls will feast and be satisfied, and we will sing glad songs of praise to him.
HYMNS DURING COMMUNION:
CPWI 504, Just As I Am (Charlotte Elliot)
1 Just as I am, without one plea
but that Thy Blood was shed for me,
and that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come.
2. Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come.
3. Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind:
sight, riches, healing of the mind,
yea all I need, in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come.
4. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve:
because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come.
5. Just as I am (Thy love unknown
has broken every barrier down),
now to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come.
6. Just as I am, of that free love
the breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come.
CPWI 495, Amazing Grace (John Newton )
1. Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
2. Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
10
3. Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
4. When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
Your Grace And Mercy (Franklin Williams)
Your grace and mercy brought me through
I'm living this moment because of You
I want to thank You and praise You too
Your grace and mercy brought me through (rep’t)
POST COMMUNION PRAYER:
Almighty Father,
we thank you for feeding us
with the Body and Blood
of your Son Jesus Christ.
May we who share His Body
live His risen life;
we who drink His cup
bring life to others;
we upon whom your Spirit shines
give light to the world.
Help us to continue in faithful witness
to your Word,
so we and all your children shall be free,
and the whole earth live to praise your Name,
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Closing Hymn: There Is A Fountain (William Cowper)
1 There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel's veins;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains:
Lose all their guilty stains,
Lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.
2 The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day;
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away:
11
Wash all my sins away,
Wash all my sins away;
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away.
3 Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its pow'r,
Till all the ransomed Church of God
Be saved, to sin no more:
Be saved, to sin no more,
Be saved, to sin no more;
Till all the ransomed Church of God
Be saved to sin no more.
4 E'er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die:
And shall be till I die,
And shall be till I die;
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die.
5 When this poor lisping, stamm'ring tongue
Lies silent in the grave,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song
I'll sing Thy pow'r to save:
I'll sing Thy pow'r to save,
I'll sing Thy pow'r to save;
then in a nobler, sweeter song
I'll sing Thy pow'r to save.
