##### The Department of Immigrant Absorption seeks to provide the best

assistance to the new Ole/ returning resident, aiming to ease the acclimatization difficulties in the country in general and in Kfar Saba City in particular.

We provide individual personal assistance in accordance with the unique needs of the immigrant and additionally provide support to all immigrants in order for them to know the institutions of the City and the State, to learn how to conduct successfully against them, and mostly hoping that their acclimatization will be as easy as possible.

The “OLEI” Association Operates a branch in the city “OLEI Kfar saba”, in cooperation with the Municipality. The services provided in the Branch are designated to the South American Community (both in Spanish and in Portuguese) including: social activities, memorial ceremonies, library, cinema and trips in the country.

French Immigration is accompanied by a coordinator speaking the language.

The Department of Aliyah and Integration works in full cooperation with the various Municipality Departments - Department of Education, Department of Youth and Youngsters, Department of Culture, Department of Welfare etc. in order to provide accessibility and to enrich the range of services provided to immigrants in the City.

Thus for example: they operate immigrant women’s theater, they conduct social activities at the youth clubs: “Jonah”, “Beit a even”, cultural activity in agricultural farm, children’s story hours at the Municipal Library, cultural events integrating communities, etc..

Service Package for the Olim in Kfar Saba

Support and counselling by the municipal Department of Immigrant Absorption, to assist immigrants with their integration in important areas.

Ulpan A - A five month Hebrew language for beginners course in Kfar Saba (depends on the amount of subscribers).

Social activities with children and youth in the community.

Cultural events for immigrants and providing exposure for immigrant artists (exhibitions, performances, etc.(.

Lectures and workshops that provide information and help with acclimatization.

90% discount on municipal taxes for apartments up to 100 square meters, for the first year from date of immigration.

Free weekly sports activities for children and youth in the first year and 50% discount in the second year. Valid for municipal sports activities only.

Free weekly sports activities for adults in the first year. Valid for municipal sports activities only.

Enrichment classes in schools for children at a 50% discount for the first two years from immigration, valid only for the municipality’s enrichment classes.

Discount on tickets for events and shows from the Ministry of Immigrantion.

“Pele“ program for middle school and high school - a program designed to enhance and strengthen immigrant students in core subjects.

“A Friend on the Way” Volunteers for Immigrants program operates in Kfar Saba and helps immigrants who have already used up their ulpan credits but still need to practice the language. The program is dependant on the number of volunteers.

About the City:

Kfar Saba was founded in 1903 and was granted city status in 1962. Located in the Sharon district in central Israel, it has a population of about 107,091.

Within the city there are four major public transportation stations, two railway stations and two central bus stations, which enable reaching other cities easily.

The city has three large commercial centres, two sports clubs, courts of law, government ministries and institutions such as the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, the Ministry of the Interior and the National Insurance Institute, as well as two industrial zones that include high-tech companies such as Amdocs, Sandisk, Nice and Teva.

As in any big city, in Kfar Saba is the “Meir” hospital, which provides medical services to all of the residents of the city and nearby towns in the Sharon.

The Department of Education - the city has for levels of educational institutions:

148 kindergartens.

17 public elementary schools and 3 religious public elementary schools.

7 public middle schools and 2 religious public middle schools.

8 public high schools and 2 religious public high schools.

The Department of Welfare - The welfare services in the city aim to enable the population in their area of its responsibility to be functionally independent by determining a therapeutic strategy for the individuals, families, groups and the community, with an emphasis on prevention and treatment.

The Department of Sport and Culture - The main objective of this department is to promote, expand and enrich cultural and youth activities and sports activities. There are a variety of activities and courses in various fields for children, teenagers and adults alike, which are held in various cultural and sports centres around the city. These activities are lead by qualified and professional instructors.
