The Dark Side of English - 11/12/2015
English studies is not always a pretty affair. Sometimes it involves the investigation of grotesque
ideas, horror, medical anomalies, depictions of violence, foul language and all sorts of ghoulish
phenomena. Faced with such monstrosities, the task of students and scholars is to look into the
abyss, roll up their sleeves and press on nonetheless. We invite students and researchers at all levels
to submit abstracts of around 200 words for presentations related to "The Dark Side of English"
which will be held at 10am on Friday the 11th of December 2015 at the University of Tampere (Pinni
B4087). Submissions are welcome from all areas of research and fields of study.
We are delighted to have Dr Mathias Clasen (Aarhus University) as our guest speaker.
Please submit your abstracts via email to [email protected] by 25/11/2015. Speakers will be
notified of their acceptance by 30/11/2015.
Attendance at the conference is free of charge. Students may receive credits by marking their
participation in the ENGA21 Study Pass.
