The Creation Process Of Our Mockumentary

Page 2: The creation process of our mockumentary - The Rare Life Of The Hengrovian Bog Newt

We were asked to create a mockumentary about the life cycle of a hengrovian bog newt. We were originally given two hours to complete the project. However, due to certain circumstances with recording and having a relevant amount of footage(images) we were given an extension of 2 hours giving us a total of four hours to complete the project.

What were we asked to do?

What did I find the least difficult?

I found for me that the easiest part of creating the mockumentary was editing. I found that importing and editing images and adding in any narration and sound effects was the easiest part for me, as I have experience in using the program, due to previously using it for past projects. Because of this I was able to edit and complete the final product in a short amount of time.

What was a challenge?

The challenges I came across while creating my mockumentary was getting the camera shots, as I found it difficult to mould the characters and after leaving the models in a box after one of the sessions it had been squashed making it difficult to re create the character looking exactly the same and keeping the character looking the same as in the past shots.

I am reasonably happy about the final product, as I think narration, shots and sound effects link together really well towards the beginning of the product and is quite effective. However I feel that it could be improved, due to the last part of the mockumentary being rushed making the sound effects not as influential and relevant, as at the beginning and there is a lack of narration, due to the product being rushed.

What are my thoughts on the final product?
