“I’m holding my experience

not as three weeks in life but as

a life in three weeks. I appreciate

the opportunity to argue, listen,

respect, and love -- all at the same

time. I’ve learned that there’s no

way to peace – peace is the way.”

–Shaden, Palestinian living in Israel

“This is an experience that happens once

in a lifetime. We had fun yet gained leadership

skills and became more independent.”

–Deema, Palestinian

“Creativity for Peace has

opened my eyes and made me

believe in myself. We can always

find the strength to love and

forgive. I realize that I can change

the reality and I should never

stop dreaming.”

–Shelly, Jewish Israeli

OUR PEOPLE

We prepare the next generation of women leaders and peacemakers

in Palestine and Israel. Our programs include a summer camp

centered on dialogue and artmaking, ongoing gatherings in the

Middle East, young leader training, and academic scholarships.

We are the sole organization focused on training young Israeli and

Palestinian women to lead in partnership. Since 2003, 193 young

women have participated.

MISSION

Welcome to Yonit Mansoor-Sahar (Israel),

dialogue co-facilitator. For 25 years Yonit has

specialized in women’s empowerment and

leadership. She has taught a course for women

managers of social change organizations and

facilitated reconciliation groups with Arab

and Jewish youth.

Ameera Said (Palestine), West Bank

coordinator and senior young leader, was born

in Jenin and grew up in the shadow of the second

Intifada. She joined Creativity for Peace in

2005. “As women we can make the change,”

she says. “I will continue this work until peace

is realized or until the day that I die.”

Yasmin Talmon (Israel), camp house mother,

is a certified trainer, facilitator, and multidisci-

plinary therapist. She established and

managed a Waldorf kindergarten for 15 years.

She believes that the work of Creativity

for Peace is a key to eliminating prejudice

between Jews and Arabs.

training in emotional and practical leadership skills and

use this expertise to advance the cause of peace.

Recent young leader activities include:

from the Middle East, Europe, and the Unites States,

organized by the Common Bond Institute in Amman, Jordan.

Visiting with members of the United States Congress

as part of an Alliance for Middle East Peace conference

in Washington, D.C.

Speaking about their work for peace to nearly 1,000 people

as part of a five-day tour of New York City that included high

schools, universities, faith communities, and public groups.

Serving on a steering committee to advise Creativity

VOlunTEERS

More than 100 volunteers contributed to our work this year, helping

with meals, laundry, and transportation. They organized workshops

and special events, such as a circle of young Israeli, Palestinian, and

American women and the second annual “Feast for Peace” celebration.

Chef Emily Swantner led a Mediterranean cooking class to raise funds

for Creativity for Peace. Many other volunteers shared their passion

for our mission by hosting fundraising parties in their homes. Thus far

more than $19,000 has been raised.

“Creativity for Peace is a great experience for each of us. I have learned how to listen, how to express myself, how to speak in public. I’m a CFP girl forever.” –Mai S., senior young leader
