why the Côte d’Azur receives 12 million visitors every

year. Boasting a quite unique setting between the

Mediterranean Sea and mountains, it enjoys a remarkable

reputation for its modern society and pleasant lifestyle.

This exceptional environment unifies cultures and

ambitions from all over the world. Foreign residents,

representing over 160 nationalities account for nearly

10% of the population and the region’s 1,775 foreign-

owned companies employ almost 30,000 people.

In addition to its natural assets, the Côte d’Azur has great

assets to satisfy investors’ ambitions, namely a powerful

ecosystem supporting innovation in several areas of

excellence, a pool of multilingual and marketable talent,

efficient infrastructures, a keen vision of the future and

adequate support for investors.

The Côte d’Azur is also home to one of the largest

concentrations of international schools in Europe making

it extremely popular with expatriates. Higher education

establishments cultivate academic excellence and encou-

rage both international and professional connections, sup-

porting the development of the region’s companies.

The Côte d’Azur is extremely fortunate in being able to

combine the assets of the Sophia Antipolis Science Park, a

long-standing global benchmark in information technology

and those of the Nice Eco-Vallée, an Operation of

National Interest which is creating new opportunities in

the cleantech industry and the smart city. These two

complementary driving forces, one mature, one up-and-

coming continue to attract global leaders.

The region is constantly improving its air, sea and land

infrastructures, along with the networks and telecom

systems supporting economic and technological

development. The region’s stakeholders, highly involved

together with Team Côte d’Azur, provide tailormade

services to the most demanding investors, helping them

evaluate investment opportunities and locations sites to

set-up and develop successfully their business on the Côte

d’Azur.
