Provincial Matters AMO and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing released the 2015 Joint Annual Memorandum of Understanding Statement. The Joint Statement provides an update of some of the activities and accomplishments under the MOU during 2015. The Ontario Government is encouraging municipal governments to proclaim June as Seniors’ month. A sample council resolution has been provided. AMO/LAS Events ROMA is pleased to host its own conference dedicated to the needs of Ontario’s rural municipalities. This forum will explore solutions and press for meaningful change by bringing together rural municipal leaders from all four corners of the province. RE: Lyme Disease Minute Item 9.3, CL 6-2016, April 28, 2016 Dear Ministers: Regional Council at its meeting held on April 28, 2016, passed the following resolution:

Whereas the number of cases of ticks positive for Lyme disease is increasing throughout Ontario and specifically in Niagara Region; Whereas the laboratory testing for and diagnosis of Lyme disease is sub-optimal; and Whereas there are chronic sufferers of long term consequences of this disease. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That Niagara Region REQUEST the Province of Ontario to increase funding for research aimed to enhance the testing for Lyme disease; 2. That Niagara Region REQUEST the Government of Canada to increase funding for research aimed to enhance the testing for Lyme disease and determine better treatment for long term outcomes of Lyme disease; 3. That this resolution BE FORWARDED to all Municipalities in Ontario for their endorsement; and 4. That this resolution BE FORWARDED to the Premier of Ontario, the Minister of Health and local Members of Provincial Parliament.

Council of the Township of Clearview is in receipt of your letter dated April 7, 2016regarding human trafficking. Please be advised that Council passed the followingsupport resolution at their April 25, 2016 meeting:

Whereas human trafficking is a heinous crime that has been referred to as modernday slavery; and

Whereas traffickers recruit, transport, harbour and control the girl next door forsexual exploitation or forced labour; and

Whereas it is one of the fastest growing crimes that starts and stays in Canada,targeting victims - 90 percent of which are Canadian-born and predominantlyfemale, averaging the age of 14; and

Whereas Ontario is a major hub of human trafficking in Canada, and victims arelured, manipulated and coerced, often over the internet from every part of Ontario;and

Whereas human trafficking is in our neighbourhoods and our communities;

Therefore Be It Resolved that Council of the Township of Clearview support Bill 158,Saving the Girl Next Door Act, 2016, support MPP Laurie Scott's motion for multi-jurisdictional and coordinated task force of law enforcement agencies, Crownprosecutors, judges, victims' services and frontline agencies; and

That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to all Members of Provincial Parliamentand municipalities. Motion Carried.

The lands affected by the proposed Amendment are located on the south-west corner of Talbot StreetWest and Wellington Street and are known municipally as 226 Talbot Street West in the Town of Aylmer. The subject lands are currently occupied by a mobile office trailer used as a temporary attended donationcentre for the collection of household goods. The subject lands to the proposed zoning amendment are located on the east side of ColborneStreet, south of the intersection with Warren Street. Having approximately 42. 67 metres offrontage on Colborne Street and approximately 1716.6 square metres ( 0. 42 acres) in lot area, they are Municipally known as 347 Colborne Street, and may be legally described as being Lots47 & 48 and Part of Lot 46, Registered Plan 117, geographic Village of Port Stanley, nowMunicipality of Central Elgin ( see Key Map below).

The effect of By-law No. 2010 is to permit residential use on both lots from Application E67/ 15and to provide a site specific regulations to control the location of buildings and structures inaccordance with the recommendations of the applicant's geotechnical engineer.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT:

The proposed London Plan will set out Council' s planning policies to manage and direct the physical

growth and development of the City under the broad headings of: Our Challenge, Our Strategy, Our City, City Building Policies, Place Types, Environmental Policies, Secondary Plans and Our Tools. The textpolicies of the London Plan provide direction for the location, use, intensity and form of development, theprotection and conservation of the environment, cultural heritage, agriculture and natural resources, and

the provision of civic infrastructure and community facilities. The Plan contains both city-wide and site- specific policies. The Plan also includes nine Maps that form part of the Plan and apply to all lands withinthe City. All public works and by- laws will conform to The London Plan. The Zoning By- law and other by- laws will be amended in the future to conform to The London Plan after it has come into force and effect.

TO REVIEW THE LONDON PLAN:

The London Plan will be available at www.TheLondonPlan. ca on May 9, 2016. The Plan will also beavailable, after Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at your local library, or for viewing at Kiwanis Seniors' Community Centre and City Hall at the Service London Counter in the lobby, the Clerk' s Office, 2nd Floor, and at the Development Services Office, 6th Floor, or at the Planning Services office on 206 DundasStreet.
